I've noticed when pressing the 'Random User' button that there are a lot of accounts which haven't been active since a little while after they joined. This means that there is a lot of unnecessary clutter that isn't exactly detrimental to the game but that, I believe, could be avoided.
Part of the reason why I predict people are leaving so quickly is because they don't know the true nature of the website until they've joined. Due to the user ID system, once an account is created, it would be exceedingly difficult to delete an account. Therefore, when a user finds he or she is incapable of removing their account, they simply go inactive. If we had a temporary trial period, I infer that a few of these complications could be remedied.
A trial period would be as follows: a user signs up for Sylestia and can explore the battling system, the generating system, and the aspects of the site while still being unable to interact with other players via the forums. When the trial period is over (say, in a month's time), that user will have the option to either leave or stay. If this would prove to be difficult, perhaps instead a user would be allowed to stay based on certain criteria such as activity. In any case, at the end of the trial period, the user would receive a User ID and would no longer have the option to delete his or her account. Depending on how this system would be incorporated, perhaps that player would also only have the opportunity to choose a username at this point.
Feel free to shoot this down if I've overlooked some glaringly obvious fatal flaw or something, and if I've repeated an old and concluded suggestion, then I apologize.

Support!
When I was younger and played poptropica you could play for free, and then save if you wanted to. Even if you had to get 0.5% of the story done before being able to save and make an account it would cut down on the empty accounts! *glares at too many empty 0.0% accounts*
Or if we had a system like flight rising with registering periods. Because if you really interested in the game, you'll come back for registration! *checked on flight rising for months*. Even if it was closed for registration 3-7 days a month, it would cut the number down.
^I understand keeping it open a lot because more players = more diamonds bought = site keeps running.
EDIT: or at the beginning of the tutorial have a notice that says "You must complete ___ of the story to be able to save your game"

It's really all the same. The data is stored one way or the other.
I will be doing a lot of restructuring though in regards to accounts and how they work with the database when I revamp. So I imagine these dormant accounts will be hidden in some form down the road.

but their pets won't be hidden, will it? because i seen some dormant people with pets for breeding, we'd still be able to breed with, right?

No.
And just because I say 'hidden', doesn't really mean like invisible. They'll still exist - just you'd have to go out of your way to notice them.
Basically, nothing will change only you won't really notice the dormant players anymore unless you really want to.
