So what exactly is AP? I have about a couple hundred and I have no idea how to use it. Is it a currency?

When you explore and fight battles, you will earn AP or, Advancement Points. You can use them in the wardrobe to get your desired avatar!

also if you save up 10000 ap you can hire a stablehand who will automatically feed your pets

But you don't pay for the stable hand using the AP, she just won't work with you if you haven't earned that much. And you don't have to maintain 10k AP, you just have to have reached that much.

Plus there will be more stuff coming out that we can use AP for when the site is revamped I believe :) For now though wardrobe styles are a good option.
