I have no idea what's going on and lots of my customs don't look the same anymore. |D I've seen that some of them have a "regenerate traits" button, but what exactly does that do? Am I going to have to basically redesign them? Did the traits they had get deleted/revamped or something? I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS.

I'd like to get back into the swing of things, but I'm not sure where to start. :D; I don't remember how to feed my pets, for one thing. I'll be trawling the user guides and such for that but in the meantime, just wondering if anyone remembers me still and if so, hello again!! xD

Oh, one more question: the ToS rules for trading/selling stuff is a tiny bit confusing. Are people allowed to sell things for USD here? And what cross-site trading policies are there, if any? Is it allowed?

Hi.

Regarding your pets, a lot of them have been revamped, where their artwork was improved, or changed all together. If you see the latest announcement on puffadores, that's been basically happening to different species.

When there is a revamp involving shuffling of traits, affected pets will be able to be regenerated, where the owner gets to basically choose whatever trait they want from traits available before the revamp. New traits are not selectable. The pets will also be able to be recoloured, unless they are tagged themed pets. This aims to help players whose projects get messed up due to movement of traits.

So when you have a regen pet, you basically get to redesign your pet all over again, based on the number of trait points they had previously. It's like using the generator, except the number of trait points you get to use is based on what your pet had previously.


To feed your pets, at the top right of the stable page, there is a "feed pets" option, that will feed all your pets in all/current stable. This is a one-time thing, and will feed your pets to maximum fullness, after which your pets will get hungry over 10 days until you feed them again.

If you want a cheaper option, click on your avatar picture in the stable page. This will allow you to hire a stablehand (if you have 10k AP and above). You will have to pay a small fee to contract the stablehand, but they will feed your pets automatically over the contracted period at a discounted price (the more pets, the higher the discount), so overall you still save gold.


As far as I know, selling things/ cross-site trading is allowed. But at the player's risk. Since agreements can be made offsite, and the admins have no way of monitoring or reenforcing policies, any trades done outside of the site is at the player's risk. There are some players who do cross-site trading still though, especially in the item auction forum.

Thanks for your help! The reason I asked about selling for USD is because if that's allowed here, that means cross-trading with Sylestia is NOT allowed on most other pet sites, as they specifically have rules against trading to any site where goods may be directly exchanged for USD--so there's a ton of users here who are in violation of some pretty heavily policed rules on other sites. They probably aren't aware of that and need to be--in good conscience on Sylestia's part--formally notified. There's a lot more to that than just allowing it at the user's own risk. The ToS is all but encouraging people to cheat on other sites. So, I can tell right off the bat that Sylestia is blacklisted for trading on sites such as Mycena Cave and Flight Rising, which means none of my Sylestia assets have value anywhere but on this site. That's a huge letdown for me. Oh well. :/

Thanks! I had read that excerpt, but the part that is vague and thus too open to different interpretations is the phrase "We allow the real life goods trading of currency for Site assets." "Goods" and "currency" in the context of trading are two completely separate things. One of those types of trades is kosher with other pet sites and the other is definitely not. It would be best rewritten to say, "We allow the trading of real life currency and goods for Site assets." No confusion or misinterpretation there.

Regardless, that's the bulk of what I wanted to know, so thank you! I really regret buying those themed Ny'venes now because I can't do much of anything with them. I need to stop being such an impulsive spender. >->;;

Hmm... don't really know about that, but from what I've seen, I think it has happened before. If you really want to be clear, you can message the admins, Krinadon or Faiona, and ask them what their ToS is meant to cover.
