This is a community voting game, in which I will post your situation and everyone votes on what choice to make.. First one: You start your Pokmon journey. Remember to Ping! I will need at least 5 votes before moving on.
As you explore the Viridian Forest, you come across a Venonat. On impulse, you catch it, using only one pokeball. If you had asked your dad, you would have gotten a Pokedex to find out it's moves, level, and gender.
A) You continue looking for Pokmon.
B) You exit the Viridian Forest, satisfied.
C) You rest. (Causes a time lapse.)
You can also name your Venonat. You can suggest names, and I will pull up and RNG and choose.

C.) I get dressed in my running clothes and a sweatshirt and grab my backpack off the back of my door before sneaking out of the house to rummage through the storage shack

OK guys, I took Flute's advice, changed it to five votes, and now there's a pinglist that you can ask to be on. I thought I would ping you all first.
Page 2
C) You go scrounge the storage shack for supplies Won.
You go look in the shack and found x1 Net and x2 Empty Pokeballs. You head into Viridian Forest. You:
A) Look for Pokmon
B) Go right through the forest, no distractions.
C) Take a rest (Will cause timelapse)
