Deep Sea Ruler
The Story of a Kelpari
Chapter One:
It had been hardly a night since the egg had hatched. Now Luminous sat protectively next to her young hatchling. The young Kelp had the same traits and colors as his mother, and, so far, the lively and daring characteristics of his father.
Luminous, Empress of the Kelpari, was watching her young son crawl around with a joyful happiness. Then the happiness turned to a deep, depressing sadness at the thought of his father, whod been slain earlier by a group of Sylesti that were unrecognizable in black.
Luminous, Empress of the Kelpari
Storm, Emperor of the Kelpari deceased
Im going to call you Deep Sea, Luminous whispered softly to her hatchling. Deep looked up, his face bright.
The shattering of glass broke through the quiet, sereneness of the island room. Luminous let out a cry of pain when a large chunk of glass buried itself in her back, slicing neatly through her spinal fin, blood oozed from the large wound.
Deep looked up in alarm and screamed when he saw his mother, growing paler by the second, lying there bleeding. More glass flew through the air as someone attempted to crawl into the room.
The Sylesti breaking in suddenly came into full sight of Deep. All words left the young Kelparis mouth, it went as dry as a parchment. Standing before him, was a black Aeridini with splotches of dark purple. It was a corrupted Aeridini with tentacle wings and large, glowing purple eyes that leaked lines of blood that dripped around its long, serpentine body. More blood dripped off of its horns and splattered onto Deeps fins.
Come on, little Kelpari prince, slurred the dark Aeridini, its voice was hollow and metallic sounding with a weird edge to it of insaneness.
Dark Aeridini
Frightened, Deep backed away from the evil Aeridini so it advanced on him and scooped him up with its tail, squeezing so tight he yelped.
The Aeridini crawled back out the window and down the side of a steep cliff jutting out above a dark ocean. Jumping, the Aeridini landed in the rough ocean waters and started to swim towards the far shore. The trip was quick, corrupted or not, the Aeridini could swim fast.
Once the group was on land though, Deep lashed out. He kicked forward with his hooves. Even though they were small, they were still sharp.
Deep Sea, heir of the Kelpari hatchling form
Surprised, the Aeridini froze for a moment and its grip on Deep lessened. Deep quickly took advantage of that and bit down hard on the Aeridini, tasting a sour liquid in his mouth. Blood. The Aeridini shouted and, out of reflexes, unwound its tail from around Deep to look at the wound.
Deep scrambled out and dove into the sea. But young Kelpari are easily overpowered by the roiling waters of the ocean and Deep was swept away by the current. He tried to say something but got a mouthful of bubbles. Fear grew in him and he began to thrash about, drawing the attention of several barracudas. The dangerous fish drew closer and darted in to attack the helpless Kelpari hatchling.
Deep had no control over his body as the barracudas began to attack him. They viciously bit him, coloring the waters red, and attacked him. The water was swirling with bubbles and flashing teeth and blood.
