Chapter 1
Everything was so dark, and cold from the air around her to the very memories she had left. It was an unnatural dark, one that you would find deep inside a cave, and there was even the pressure to go with it. It was not much pressure but it was enough to make your ears pop every now again. Where was this? How had she gotten here in the first place? The girl raised her hand though she could not see it. Nothing, there was nothing in front of her only dark. She quickly pulled her hand back to her afraid of what lurked in the deep abyss of the pitch black. The surface she sat upon was soft and almost inviting if she knew what it was. It curved to fit her shape the longer she sat in it the deeper she seemed to sink. This too frightened the girl causing her to jump up suddenly. Now she stood in the dark, her hands out stretched in front of her. Her heart was racing as she stumbled forward, her eyes wide though they could not see anything that stood in front of her. She hit something. It was a wall of sort though it felt as if it was padded with something like a hard pillow. This caused more panic to spread over her. Was she in a padded cell? For what reason? Had she been kidnapped?! She was crying now as she felt along the wall trying to find a place to exit this madness. There was a corner, good that meant the room had and end in sight, or in the dark as she currently was. Her toe struck something, hard. She winced, recoiling from the object. What was it? It didnt seem to move even when she had struck it. Could it be a piece of furniture? Her hands reached out again and found the object again. It was a desk with a single chair sitting in front of it, and loads of paper sitting in a stack of one edge, at least it felt like paper. She made her way around the edge of the desk and again to the wall. How long was this room? It seemed as if it ran on forever and ever! Then her fingers touched the cool metal of the door. Finally the door! But where was the doorknob? She searched frantically for it but had no luck. She moved on forcibly, hoping to find something else that may help her in the long run. Just a few moments later she came to the light switch.
Oh thank the lord! She said happily as she flipped the switch. The lights hummed loudly before actually clicking on. The light was surprisingly blinding as they reflected off the white washed walls. The girl winced again as she covered her eyes. Where in the world am I? she asked herself squinting to keep some of the light from hurting her eyes. Now she was able to see around the padded cell, for indeed it was so. There was a bed sitting the right hand corner of the room from where she stood at the door and the desk she found was on the wall next to the bed. There was a stack of paper sitting perfectly on it along with a box of brand new pens, the ink color being black, and a lamp that stood on the edge closest to the bed. Other than that and a mirror that stood to her left the room was an empty white cell. The mirror caught her attention now more than anything else. She hardly recognized herself now, saying that she was dress a lot differently than normal. The clothing she wore was white like the walls around her, and both pants and shirt were horribly baggy on her. Then there was her hair. It was all cut off! It was short now not long like it was, cut in a sort of bob like haircut. It was cute and all but it was not like her at all. She walked closer to the mirror a hand running through her hair as she did. What? She asked her voice shaking some as she did. Thats when she saw it. On the base of her thumb, printed in black ink was a number, 198 it read. She looked at her hand then saw it was on the other thumb as well. What the heck? She asked her voice shaking more. She looked back to the mirror and found the same number was on her sleeves and pants legs. She backed away in horror, falling as she did so. Even on the ground she still backed away until her back was on the wall. The girl grabbed at her hair before she began to scream. Where am I?! She yelled as loud as she could. Someone please let me out! She grabbed at her ruined hair but found that there was hardly enough to grab onto. Tear stung her eyes and she began to sob. Why was she not home like every other morning she woke up? Why was it so hard to remember what had happened to her in order for her to get here? Why could she not remember anything?
Everything was so blurry in her memories, she could not even think of what her mother and father looked like. Did she even have them? Of course she did, didnt she? Then there was the fact that it was even harder to think of who she was. How in the world do you forget who you are? What kind of drugs was she on?! Whatever it was she was stupid to even have tried them if she had any chose on the matter. Look where it has gotten her! She hit herself on the forehead trying to will herself into remembering anything yet nothing seemed to help. How though? The door beeped at her then. There was a hiss as the door opened. The girl stared wide eyed at now opened door as a man entered.
Theres no need for that young lady. The mans voice was deep and smooth like he knew what he was talking about. The girl could see him now in the full light of the blinding room. He had dark brown hair cut in an army style with the top spiked up a bit in a sort of miniature Mohawk. He also wore a blue tooth headset on his right ear with the microphone clipped on the front of his shirt. The clothes he wore were not quite right to say in the least they, much like the room around her were a washed out color of white with only the collar of the shirt being black. Even his pants were a crisp white color, leaving only his eyes to give him any color. They were green, and a very lovely shade of green at that, they seemed to shine brightly in the light as he looked around the room. He smiled when he saw her, like he was happy to see her though his eyes told he was lying. I see you managed to find your way around already. Sorry to have left you alone for so long, there was a bit of a problem on level two but all is resolved now. The man went on. The girl shook with fear as she stared at him. Who was this man? Was he the one that put her here? He stepped closer causing the girl to back away quickly.
No! No! You stay right there, dont come any closer to me or IllIll I will cut you! She said coming up with ideas as she went. She knew that he could easily over power her, but maybe if she made herself look like she knew what she was doing she would be left alone. But the man only came closer to her his hands deep in his pockets.
Now you and I both know that you cant harm me. You have nothing to do it with and you have no will to do it either. So if you would please just calm down. He said holding a hand out to her. Please Im just trying to help you. The girl backed away more falling onto the bed as she did. She scrambled back still kicking the sheets up as she did.
Dont touch me! she screamed as she backed away. Her back hit the wall as she reached the farthest spot she could get. The man just kept coming closer to her, his hands again in his pockets. The girl was sobbing now not sure what he wanted from her or what he was going to do to her. She covered her face with her hands as to not see where he was. Please just leave me alone. He sat on the bed and sighed.
Im sorry but I have to do as they tell me. He whispered. This caused the girl to look up as he pulled a syringe from his pocket and stabbed it into her arm. She yelp much like a puppy would when you scold it. The room started to sway some as she started to black out, through she tried to fight it off. The last thing she saw before she completely blacked out was the mans face, a grim look on it before he looked away from her. Was he feeling sorry for her? Then she slipped into the blackness of the drugs that coursed through her veins.

Hello again fellow Sylestians! As you know I'm Hawkeye, some of you may know me from the role play thread. I'm here now though with a story! This is a work in progress, and I have put in a lot of my time into making it, yet I know there are lots of work that is still to be done. If you would be kind enough to look over it and see what needs to be fixed I would be very thankful. And if you want to read more then I will be happy to post more! Thanks again!

She woke with a start. There was a light shining in her face now a bright one at that. Her head felt heavy as she lifted it from where it had been lulled forward onto her chest. Her head was still spinning some and it hurt when she looked up at the light, it must have been from the drugs that caused her to sleep. The room around her was dark save for the lamp and what little of the white walls the light touched. She sleepily looked around, turning as she did, but her arm got caught on something as she did. She turned back to find both her arms were tied down to the chair she sat in. This was enough to make her wake up the rest of the way. She struggled to get free, but then it turned to thrashing as she screamed. She was frantic; this was stuff out of horror movies the kind that you laugh at because they all were the same, that is until you are the one trapped. Then the over head light came on. The girl squinted in the blinding light as it bounced off the white walls. Again with this? What was the point of any of this?! Her fear was starting to turn to anger as the ties held her in place even when she struggled. Then the voice came.
"Test test 1-2, 1-2 test. Good it works." It was a male speaking now over an intercom. His voice was a lower pitch and a bit raspy not at all like the man that had drugged her. You may proceed with the test now.
"Thanks Jim." A female said a bit quieter, she must have been a bit away from the microphone. And who was Jim? Was he the one that spoke first? What was going on here! They seemed to not even care that she was there tied to a chair with not a clue of what was going on. "Alright, Brian do you want to go first?" Footsteps echoed out as the person walked forward.
"Sure I guess we should get this over with." That voice, it was the one that the man had. Brian, he was the one that had drugged her and brought her here! She struggled to move managing to pull one of her hands free.
"Why are you doing this? Let me go!" The girl shouted as she tried to free her other hand. It was not helping that she could not manage to keep her free hand steady.
"Calm down, there is no need for panic. We just want to ask you a few questions." The female said again this time louder. Brian said nothing. "Now lets start with a simple question, what is your name? The girl stopped struggling for a moment as she thought. What? She had to stop and think about her name?" What was it? This was bull crap one does not forget their name! How can a human being forget their own name! Yet it refused to come to her. "Well?"
"What did you do to me?! Why cant I remember my own name?" The girl yelled as she turned around the room. How could they see her? There were no cameras or was there? If there was then they were all well hidden.
"Good, now do you know why you are here?" The intercom buzzed some and the girl could hear someone clearing their throat. They seemed so calm about this, like this happened every day. Did it happen every day?
"Hell no! Let me out of here!" The girl screamed as loudly as she could. "Help me! Get me out of here!"
" Press the button Brian; shes not going to answer us. Just press the button and get this over with." The female said with a sigh. The girl stopped. Were they going to kill her? If she would have known that she would have not struggled. But nothing happened. "Brian, press the button." The woman growled.
"No." The man said simply. "You know this is not right."
"Just press the freaking button! She is better off like this then she is torn apart by them!" The female yelled. "Fine you wouldnt press the button then I will. "
"No!!" But the man was too late she had already pressed the button. There was a click within the room and a slight humming sound before the walls jolted inward a centimeter or so. Then they started to slide together, all at once. It was the stuff out of nightmares, that one fear that everyone shares, being crushed by the walls that closed in around you. The girl was no different; this was one of her worst fears, not to mention that she was already bit claustrophobic to begin with. On the top of her list though would have to be a fear of the ocean, or thalassophobia which literally means sea fear, though that has nothing to do with her situation, at least not yet. The walls were closing in around her getting closer by the second. They were about halfway now, but they were moving a bit faster now. The girl was panicked. She screamed as she beat on one of the walls and tried to push it back or hold it at bay. The speaker was coming to life now as the two on the other end fought. Curse words were being shouted, things were falling and breaking, and there were punches being thrown by the sounds of it. The girl cried as the walls came closer to her. This was the end, this was her death. She had no power over what was going to happen to her, which alone was one of the worst ways you could die. She leaned on the wall as she sobbed, there was so many things she still wanted to see in the world! Like the Great Wall of China, or the country side of Russia, but no she was going to die with not a clue what any of those things looked like in person. She sank to the ground, the wall moving her closer to her end. Why did it have to be her that this was happening to? She had done nothing wrong so why punish her? She closed her eyes as the wall opposite of her came closer, it was better not to watch. She tried to calm herself, deep breath in through the mouth, out through the nose. Clear your mind; dont try to think of what is going to happen to you in less than a minute she kept telling herself. Finally she had a moment in which she was calm; the thought of being away from all the pain and the horrors of this world was enough to comfort her as the walls closed in as close as they could without getting her.
"Let this be the end." She whispered as the walls jolted the rest of the way until they came together. Yet there was no pain, none at all. The girl opened her eyes slowly. All around her was a greycolor that glowed. No it was shining. Was this what came after life? Why was it so empty? Her thoughts nearly jumbled together, thinking was a very hard thing to do now. There was so many questions going through her mind and the sluggishness was not helping at all. She felt lost, afraid, and helpless now more than she had before. If this was death she wanted to be living again, even if she was in the strange room she had woke up in what seemed to be years ago. Slowly she went to stand then she noticed it, her arms they were see through. It was like looking at a heliogram and not one of the best either. It was a haze transparency, and it seemed to shutter some even as she sat still. Was she a ghost? Was being a ghost a good thing? She stood, which was strange all in its own. Every movement was slow and delayed. She told her body to move and it hesitated then a few seconds later she moved. It was like trying to watch that one movie that had so many scratches on it that it skipped about and missed parts. Her head span as she tried to walk forward some. It was so disorienting, which only added to her confusion. There was no one here! If this was death you would at least think that there would be someone here to greet you. Then she heard it.
They were voices, though they were strangely muffled. None of the words could be made out, but there was no mistake that they were indeed voices. But where were they coming from? It seemed to be coming from every direction, how was she ever going to find them? She continued forward a bit faster now. She had to find those people; she needed to know what was going on here. How can you be a ghost and not know what how to be one? It wont work that way. The voices were getting louder now. She ran though it seemed to not be the best of her ideas. Everything was skipping, and jumping ahead. Talk about a headache. Then it all suddenly stopped. There was really no way to explain it other than it just stopped. She jump ahead and there was no more white, it was black now. The voices had stopped too. She looked around the room. There were four people in the room and they were all staring at her with their mouths opened. She cocked her head as she stared back at them. Then her thoughts returned. She was standing on something, but what? She looked down to find that she stood on the control panel of something, but what? She looked around her, even more questions running through her mind now. She gave a questioning look as she found that one of her feet was stuck in the wall. There was her leg but no ankle and no foot that was attached to it. She moved her foot and found that she still felt her foot, though it was faintly. She pulled her foot from the wall; this too was a very slow task. Why was this happening? What was happening to her? Was she losing her mind piece by piece? There were so many question and no answers. Oh what she would give to have someone to ask these questions. There were people in here maybe she could ask them, after all they didnt seem to be doing anything else. So she went to open her mouth to ask the first of the repeating question, but she stopped. Her leg, it was starting to burn. She looked down. Now what? Could she not catch a break today? But the questions soon passed as the burning feeling spread around her body, crawling up her leg then her arm until her whole body was in a burning mass. Then it swapped to a brilliant pain, one that caused your muscles to seize up. It again started in her leg though she couldnt tell if it was spreading yet it was too overwhelming to tell. Her knee buckled at first then her whole leg seized. She was again panicked though this time she could not scream to express that discomfort. And the people in the room only stood there and watched as she lay on the control panel in a twitching crying mass of a girl. Then the pain got to her. She stopped twitching as soon as she was out cold, and lay there as if she was sleeping. The people around room just stood and stared as they returned their composer. The woman had a stern look on her face, and blood on her hand much of which was not her own. One of the men, a nicely plump man with a balding head whos hair, well what was left, was tied back in a thin tan pony tail was still holding her arm as he had done when he had tried to restrain her. He wore a bright orange shirt that had buttons in the front that could barely keep in his stomach. No one could mistake him on the black background of the control room. Brian stood in the grasp of an officer of the law, his nose dripping blood and his white shirt ruined with new red splats. His hair was clumped with sweat now, and fell in his face. He pulled his arm from the officer, and wiped his nose.
"See? I told you she was not ready! You should have just left her alone!" Brian yelled. "The woman only shook her head matter-of-factly. "
" You stupid man, that was exactly what they wanted to see. Now we know where to put her in the facility." The woman said as she stepped forward. She used her foot to prod to girl as she lay on the ground, then turned her nose up at her. "Put her back in her room, when she wakes up I want you to send her to level nine. They are to start her treatment now." Brian took a quick step forward his fist raised to hit but the cop grabbed him by the arms and held him fast. The man struggled to get free but he was held tightly in the grasp of the police officer.
"You cant do that! She doesnt even know where she is! You cant do that to her, it will ruin her mind!" Brian yelled as he fought the cop who was pulling him back towards the door.
"Marty I think Brian has forgot who is in charge here, can you see to it that he remembers?" The cop smiles as the woman says this.
"Yes maam I will." Brian stopped struggling then and let to cop take him. He had really done it now; he had gone off the deep end. The woman gave a evil smile as she looked down at the girl. Jim, the man in the bright orange shirt, stood by her side wringing his hands nervously.
"Maam," He asked in a shaking voice. "what will happen to the girl?"
"Everything, Jim, she will die in the worst ways possible, she will die of fear of what she cant change. Do you wish to join her?" The woman smiled wider as she said this. Jim broke into a sweat and stepped back.
"No-no maam. "
"Then shut your mouth!" The woman yelled as she kicked the girl in her side. "Gregory! Get this damn girl to her room! I want her dead by this time next week!"

(I don't plan on it, I'm just giving it in pieces. If I tried to put all I had up here it would only get halfway through the first chapter then stop.)

What had happened? Lord whatever it was she didnt need to do that again anytime soon. Her head was throbbing like she had been hit by a frigate train, which was not to be taken lightly. Slowly she opened her eyes, though it did not seem to help much seeing that the lights were out in the room. Everything was still so sluggish, it seemed to take forever just to get one of her hands up to her face to mover her rather short hair from her eyes though again it seemed to not do anything to help the situation. Her joints popped as she moved, and her muscles protested at every move she made. Some of her memories were beginning to return now which was a blessing. She could see her mother now vividly in her mind standing next to father as they took a family photo while they were on vacation. They looked so happy, yet at this point could they have been or was that just a ploy? She wiped her eyes as they began to tear up. Then a thought hit her.
"Could they be the ones that allowed these people take me?" She asked quietly to herself. "Could mom and dad be to blame? Why did they not tell me this?"
"Because they did not want you to feel indifferent in your daily life, they did not want you to do anything to yourself that you would come to regret." It was a mans voice that said this in a defeated way, like he was upset that he had to tell her this. The girl sat up quickly and coward in the corner of the room sitting atop the pillows of the bed. The man breathed a huffy sigh. "Its alright they arent going to hurt you, at least not now. Its just you and me." Yet something did not seem right about the man, about the way he spoke. He sounded tired, defeated even, and his voice had a crack of static when he finished a sentence. The girl uncurled from where she had her legs clinched up to her chest. The man was not in the room, he was speaking over an intercom system that was hooked up to just her room. She felt a bit safer now, like she had an advantage over him, she knew what he thought she did not. Still she said nothing, but simply wiped her eyes. "Im sorry, so so sorry," The man said quietly. "I had no clue thats what they were going to do to you. I feel like a pile of ****** for what I did to you." The sound of his sobs was enough to make the girl feel something deep inside. Was she feeling remorse for this man? He sounded so sad, so lonely, and above all so sorry for what he had done to her. Or was it just an act to get her to put down her guard. If he was going to play that game then she would just have to play along with him.
"Its alright, I forgive you." The girl whispered as she drug herself to the edge of the bed. The man was quiet for a moment, though the girl could still hear his breathing on the other end of the microphone.
"You know its funny, youre the only one that has ever answered me back, no matter what I ask the others they never answer me." He chuckled at himself for a moment but then fell silent again. "But out of them all you seem to be the worst I have had to look after." What did he mean by that? And others? Were there more of them here then just her? What was this place, to just steal children from their parents and keep them here as test subjects? She kept pushing the thought back, the one of her emerging through the wall to see the four people engaged in a babbling fight. What were they doing to the people once they got here? Would she ever be able to ask anyone all these questions? "But enough of that. For once I would like to have a normal conversation with a person that did not record what I was saying." He sighed. "My name is Brian if have not noticed. Im your caretaker for the extent of your stay however long you will be here. Im sure you have an assortment of questions you would love to ask. Fire away, after all thats why I am here is it not?" But which question was she going to ask first? The basic ones first then the harder to answer ones.
"Alright then," She said thinking of what she could ask. "I guess I would like to know where the heck I am exactly. Yes I know I am in a cell, so dont be a smart******and tell me that, I want to know where exactly is this cell." The man chuckled again.
"Lets see your cell, which is the 749th on this level, is located on the west wing of the seventh floor of our facility. It sits on the edge of the wall nearest to the stairs, next to the cells 748 and 750 on the westward wing. Is that a good enough answer?" Brian said laughing a bit. The girl laughed as well and shook her head. He was a joker great just a bit more she knew about him and not the place she was staying. "But seriously you are on level seven of this building, ANOR as the higher ups call it, but us that work here we all call it Hell on Earth. ANOR is a facility for people like you, ones that have a little to a big quality that makes them different from the general people of the world." He stopped for a moment as if he was thinking. "You know how you escaped that room earlier? Sorry to bring it up but that was an example of your power. You are apparently able to walk through walls without even a thought. None of us are sure how you did it yet but you did and that is why you are locked in this room right now, because you are different from the normal people that lived on your block, went to school with you, or even saw you in your town. We knew very little about you, your parents did not tell us much when they called us but they begged us to take you for the sake of you. They wanted you to be among your own people, to feel like you werent different. If only they knew what we really did to you here." Again the man fell silent. The girl was looking down at her hands now, her finger ran across the number that was tattooed on her left thumb. "Well talk more of it later, I promise. Lets move onto another question alright?" The girl nodded.
"Why is there a number stamped on my thumbs? And on my clothes? You could have just put my name on it, whatever my name that is." The girl sighed as she spoke, and put her hands down so she would not look at the tattoos anymore.
"Dont worry we all have them, even me. They are identification numbers, they tell who we are. Yours is 198 right? Well that tells us that you are the 198th patient to be classified with your strength level or in the unclassified group since we had not a clue what your powers were before you got here. My number is 102c meaning that I am the 102nd councilor to work here, but they have added lots more since then. We as employees dont have to have our numbers printed on our clothing, they trust us a bit more, and we are less likely to run. Your clothes have your number on them so that we can see who you are from a distance that way if you do escape then we dont have to try and get close to you before we call it in." The man said quietly into the microphone. "Just a moment Greg! For God sake let me get my stuff before you come breaking down the door!" The man yelled, his voice seemed a bit farther away now before she could hear the sounds of a chair scrapping on the ground. "As a councilor I have to speak with my patient before the end of the first day! You know that!" He continued. "Goodnight, 198, I will talk with you more tomorrow night, maybe we will even get to meet somewhere down the line." Then he walked away. The girl could tell because she could hear the door frame crack as the other man, presumed to be Greg, pulled it opened. There was a lot of shouting but none of it could be made out except for the punch as it hit someone, hard by the sound the bone made as it cracked. The girl winced knowing that it did not seem good for the man called Brian. Why was he always getting beat up? To her it seemed as if he was the underdog, like he was always the one that no matter what he did he was always going to get hit for it. The intercom was quiet the rest of the night, the girl knew this only because she was still sitting on the bed when the door to her cell opened and the guard, Greg as he was called, stepped in. He was not as nice as the man Brian, nowhere near it. He entered the room with an evil smile on his face before he came closer. The girls heart began to race as he advanced, but deep inside her she knew that he was not able to hurt her, that that was not his orders. It almost seemed as if there was someone else there with her as she stood off with the man, like she was getting support from someone that was not there.
"What the hell do you think youre doing girl?" The guard snarled. He presented himself as a rabid animal, wild and violent. This was only giving him what he wanted but if she was to be respected she needed to stand up and face the man head on. So she did. She stood from where she sat on the bed and glared and the man with her head downcast. The man shuttered a moment before he continued the advance towards her a syringe in hand.
'Now, charge him now.' It was a voice, her own by the sound of it. Though it was like she was the only one that could hear it, why was that. 'Too late, duck and work your way around him.' She did as told and barely missed getting the syringe to the neck. Greg had no clue what had happened and went flailing onto the bed in a cursing mass. 'give him a swift kick to the******why dont you?'The voice said. The girl drew back her foot and planted it right on the mans rear sending him head first into the bed again. 'Good now run, you dont have much time before the guards get there. If your to escape then you need to do it now.'
"What? Im not going to escape! I wont get ten feet before they catch me!" The girl argued out loud. She was a feared of what was going to happen to her if she stayed in here, but it would be ten times worse if she was to leave her room.
'With that attitude you wont, you've only got ten seconds before that man gets up, and the guards have been alerted that your door is opened and has been with you still awake.' The voice said in a huffy way. 'Trust me; youll get out if you go now.'
"No! Im not going to do it! Youre crazy for trying and getting me to do that." The girl said not moving from where she stood.
'Well dont say I didnt warn you.' The voice said.' Heads up he's going to use his fist now instead of the syringe.'Sure enough in ten seconds Greg got to his feet and punched the girl until she was out cold. 'Dont worry you'll have another chance in about three days.'

(It will become a book yes, some day hopefully.)

Chapter 2
Her head was spinning, and her face was swollen in places from the hits. How? How had that voice known what was going to happen? Was she just losing her mind? Slowly she opened her, though the lamp that was overhead made it hard to see, thus she closed her eyes again. Where was she now? It was getting redundant with all these new changes that were going on, not to mention never knowing where she was at any given time. But this time was different. There was a strong disinfectant smell in the air, much like a doctors office or a hospital would have. There were voices as well though they were very faint and could not be made out. Again she opened her eyes but this time she turned her head to the side, trying to protect herself from the ray of the light. There was a window there and people in surgical mask peering in as they took notes. She could see herself in the window, as a reflection of course, lying on an operation table under a lamp. Her arms and legs were bound to the tables metal surface, making escape impossible without help. She struggled against the straps but could not get them to release themselves. Was this the end? Was this how she was going to die? Trapped on this table, with no one around save for those people in the window. Why was she here?
Of course it was due to her power, the reason her parents left her here with these killers. So why not use her powers now to escape? But how did she use them, how was she going to get when she did not even know how to start? How had she done it back in the room? It just happened, that how. Maybe if she put a hand on the other cuff that held her then she would be able to pull her hand from shackle. That was a good idea, so she reached over to pull it off. Waither hand it was free, at least the one she needed was. How had she done that? She set up quickly, causing the other hand to slip free right through the cuff. Well that was a way at least, though she still wished she knew how she was able to do that. But now was not the time, she needed to get her legs free. She did this by just swinging her legs off the bed. It was strange and empowering how now nothing was strong enough to hold her, how she was able to free herself from anything she wanted to. But what now since she was free? She sat there for a moment as her wrist and ankles began to hurt. It was like when she had come through the walls back at the beginning.
'I see now you are taking my advice. A bit late if you ask me, but what am I to you other than a voice that talks to you when no one else is listening. So what now? Are you just going stand there?' The voice said returning. The girl jumped a bit as it spoke. 'Well are you?' she shook her head not aware that the voices owner could not see her.
"I am just thinking, give me a minute to think about whats going on here." The girl said putting a hand on her head as her thoughts started to get sluggish. It had taken longer now but it still all ended in her not being able to think about anything more than the pain in her legs and arms.
'You dont have a minute, you need to get going, at least return to your room, that will throw them off your trail for a while, all you have to do is confuse them for three days. Thats when he is going to break free.' The voice said with a slight shiver.
"What do you mean? He?" the girl asked but only got a loud yell in return. "Hey! Dont do that!"
'Dont tell them his plan! Thats the only way we are going to get out of here. Yes lots of people are going to die but we along with many more have the chance to get free of this fate, but only if he gets out. Im sorry but I have to go. Dont forget that you have to get out of that room. The voice reminded. It fell silent for a moment before returning. Oh and you only have thirty seconds before the room fills with toxic gas, just to warn you. Then it was gone, the voice disappeared. It had been right last time, so whats to say that it was wrong this time? She didnt want to stick around to find out that was for sure. She approached the wall in from of her, a hand out stretched. This wall was concrete, which was a lot different than the metal one she had walked through before. She hesitated before putting her hand on the wall. What if it hurt like last time? No time to think of that now, she just needed to get back to her cell. Hopefully the voice would be right and this would throw them from her trail for a few days. She took a breath and stepped into the wall.

It was so different in here, it was like she was trapped in a dreamland, but there was nothing else here. Everything was hazy from her mind to her physical body, her thoughts were up in the air, and nothing made since anymore. She walked forward a bit but stopped when she saw them. There was people walking past her, in slow motion but they were there. There was a thin black line that she was walking on, and they were walking on the tiles of the halls much like a normal person would have. Before it had just been a grey abyss she walked through but then again it was her first time walking through a wall and they were thick walls that came together, too thick to see through. Now though she could see everything that was going on around her, from the guards that looked for her to the people and patients that she past. How was she could to find her way back to her room? What floor was she on? Too many questions, it made her head hurt trying to think about them all. Maybe if she just went up she would be able to find a map or something. But how did you go up when in a wall? Could you just walk up it like stairs or was there more to it? There was only one way to find out. She raised her left foot first and brought it down like she was walking on stairs. To her surprise it works, her foot came to rest in mid air. This was cool yet strange all on its own. She walked up the stairs with confidence, a slight smile on her face. This was fun.
This is strange. How do you find your way through any of this? the voice asked as it returned. It too was sluggish, though it also seemed to talk slowly in order to be understood.
I dont know, it like I just know where to go once I get in her. I just walk and end up where I want to be. The girl answered slowly though the words she spoke could only be heard in her head. Its very strange in here, it confuses me each time I use my power. And that word, power, that just creeps me out to think Im not the same as everyone else.
It did the same when I found out I had my power as well. Dont worry though; you will get to where it is no longer as confusing. At least your power will help get you free, Im trapped down here in level ten with the worse of the worse.
Wait you mean youre not just myself talking me through these situations? Who are you then? The girl stopped walking suddenly, afraid.
Sorry, but no. Im a patient here just like you. Names Dean, Dean Bryson. At your service. The voice said with a happy tone.
Dean, thats a cool name. The girl says not sure what to tell him her name was.
You? Dean asked. What was she going to tell him? She still couldnt recall her name. But his name did spark something, but was it a nickname or her real name? It didnt matter she would not be able to tell him.
I dont know my real name.
Everyone says that.
Thanks. The girl said half heartedly. What was this persons deal? Dont worry about it now, just get to your room, thats all you need to do now. So she walked on. There was no telling how long she had been gone by the time that she had gotten to her cell. She felt so tired, too tired to even think. She made it though, that was the best part. She limped over to the bed and sank into the white sheets. It was such a soft bed, and so fluffy. It seemed to just curve around her and cuddle every curve of her body. She was nearly asleep when the intercom came on.
There you are! Brian huffed into the microphone. Weve been looking for you everywhere! Im, personal, glad you are back in your cell. They have no grounds to punish you now. But I must askwhy did you come back to the place that holds you? Max sat up on the bed, she had not thought that far ahead yet. What could she say? This man had already taken a beating for her, so why not tell him?
Because I thought I would be a bit safer here, and I didnt like those people staring at me through their window. I just wanted to be somewhere that I could at least be relatively alone. The girl sighed. This was only part of the way true though, she had really came back because that voice, Dean, had told her to, but at the same time she felt a bit safer in this room, with or without the man there.
Im not sure that is entirely true, youre in more danger when in your cell. But now they will have to leave you be until they get you a higher security cell. That should take a few days in the least so youre safe for the time being. The man said his voice sounding like he was at least a bit happy. But then the mood changed, it went from happiness to a dangerous feeling in almost an instant. He hit you didnt he? Greg? How did he know? Was he watching?
It was only because I kicked him, it was my fault more than anyone elses. Im fine though, it only busted my lip. The girl said hiding her face for a moment. And he hit you too, I heard it. How bad is it? I heard the crunch; I know its not good whatever it is. Brian sat silently for a moment before sighing.
He cracked my jaw thats all I can hardly feel it so dont worry about it. It will heal, just like all the other wounds I have ever had. The man laughed some. But thats Greg for you, leave you beat up on the inside and not leave a mark on the outside. You need to watch yourself around him, he could really hurt you if he wanted to.
Im sure he could, and you need to be more careful around him too, he is going to kill you one day. Frankly I dont want you to go; youre the only one that seems to care about me in this place.
Really? Wow, no one has ever told me that before. They usually dont even talk back to me, but then there is you. You always answer from what few times I have talked to you, and you are always willing to talk back to me.
Its the only thing I really look forward to anymore. The girl sighed. Sorry, but I think Im going to turn in for the night. Good night Brian
Good night 198, I promise that tomorrow I will be here, and maybe then we will be able to finally meet. Brian said as the girl drifted off into a deep dreamless sleep.
