so, i was thinking about something---
some of us are good at drawing online, others arn't......
so, why shouldn't sylestia have its own art system?
for example, chicken smoothie has oekaki ( fire fox) , and chicken paint (google chrome ).
their system of art allows the user to create any appropriate image they desire through the use of many tools, for example, blending, burning, and dodging.
they also include tools like 'smoothing' , which takes away the shakiness in the lines for those of us who aren't good at online art, as well as having 'lock alpha' for different layers- this tools provides several functions- firstly, lock alpha allows only whatever you put in that layer to be colored, without risking the coloring of a lower layer.
the layers also provide overlap- what you want on top goes in the upper layers, what you want to be partly hidden/on bottom goes on the lower layers.
they also provide many other different tools and functions!
why do i think this could help sylestia?well, there are many reasons!
sylestians could have a easier way of expressing themselves , and more easily make fan-art of their favorite species or pets!
the art system could also include a way for users to help spread ideas, like maybe some gene/mutation ideas they had, or maybe even a whole new species idea!
then in the contests where you have to design a new gene/mutation, there could be certain editable versions here on sylestia of the species bases only accesible during the contest.
this way users who can't draw online could have a way of making decent-quality entries if they are not as skilled as others. this would give the sylestian staff a larger variety of ideas to choose from!
i beleive that if sylestia had its own art system, it could greatly benefit the sylestian community

Hmmmm... It's a good idea and all, but with all the different art programs out there, I don't think Sylestia will need to have their own as well. And besides, it will be a big problem trying to code it... ^_^;

I have to agree. There are several free (and ones you can pay for also like Photoshop) art programs that provide all of those same free tools and more if you know how to work them. I believe Sai and Gimp are both free and I was told of another one I can't remember the name of.
