When humans discover uncharted territory filled with many species of creatures, called sylesti, their initial reaction is to test for radiation that caused mutations in animals, but when that dosnt pan out, they decide to capture as many as possible for testing, to see what makes them tick, what caused them to be so different and vibrantly colored. A small group of sylesti overhear the plan and must go on a perilous journey to warn the elders, and get everyone to safety.
