CHAPTER ONE:The Unfolding Disaster

It had happened. Naess was running, quickly, for her life as the horde of other Zolnixi chased her, including the village guard. All it took was just one statement, one tiny mistake, and all h*** broke loose. Just one forbidden word. Human. She was scared to death, scared for her life, and kept running. Even the Zolnixi Hatchlings were chasing her, snapping and growling at her tail. She was one of many with wings that sparkled black and green like the evening grass. She had grey fur, with almost invisible light grey swirls. She also had something she had heard the humans called "Tri Tails." Of course she knew her family loved her, a lot, but now they had no say in what the Zolnixi guard had decided. They had to run and try to kill her too. She found a clearing filled with piles of large grey rocks. Camouflage. She jumped over the rocks, the army of Zolnixi thinking she jumped and disappeared into the cave nearby. She forced herself to breathe through her nose to avoid them hearing her. She didn't dare move; the Zolnixi species had the best hearing out all of the Sylesti on Earth. One misstep close to them, and she was dead. Suddenly, something bit the side of her face, just missing her left eye, and pain surged through her head. She screamed on the inside, but simply let the figure drag her away on the outside. She knew she was done for and accepted her fate. She, almost calmly, slowly let the darkness take her.

Yes. If I don't seem excited, it's normal for me. I never seem excited. Except maybe about dragons.

Chapter 2: The Lupora With The Dark Brown Fur
Naess had awakened to a crackling fire on a small hill, overlooking the nearby Lupora village. She noticed the pain in her left eye had subsided. She yawned, and looked around. On a soft bed of grass, a Lupora lie sleeping soundly. It had dark brown fur with armour that was sparkling in the sunlight. He had Ethereal Wings, as the humans called it, of light blue. They also had horns black as the night. A faint glow came from the armour. She slowly called out, "Hello? ......C-Can you hear me?" No reply. "P-Please wake up.. I'm so confused. Where am I?" This time, the figure mumbled something. "Go back to sleep. Let me wake you up later and explain. I'm tired from all that running. Please just return to your fire. Explore if you want, but don't get within one hundred feet of my village." They ended the sentence, but Naess wasn't going to let them off the hook that easily. "May I ask your name? My name is Naess." He turned around to meet her gaze. "Garroth. The name's Garroth."

Chapter 3 - Is He Just an Acquaintance?

"Wake up, lazy bones." Naess awoke to a gentle voice and a Lupora standing above her. "Oh, you FINALLY woke up. C'mon, we're going to go to the forest to hunt." Naess realized it was Garroth staring at her. She was surprised they would hunt. Zolnixi simply were vegans. No meat. "I'm a vegan. I puke at the sight of dead meat." Just thinking about it made her sick to her stomach."Well, unless you wanna starve, you're gonna have to make a "daring" decision." "I refuse to. I would simply eat the leaves or the grass. In winter, eat the cave plants. Simple." Garroth shook his head and sighed. "Okay. Whatever. See you later, Nixi." She frowned at the use of the stupid nickname given to her species. She sighed and nibble some grass. She also thought about what her family was doing. Probably being executed for having such an idiotic daughter and sister. She worried about her brothers and sister, all probably being close to maturing. She sighed. They would be released into the human bow and arrow range near their village to be shot by humans. "No. They're too important. They need the best and most helpful family around..." With that, Naess dismissed the thought from her head and wandered to the nearby lake for a drink.
