So I have created my starter and I love her :D

but when I went through the quest for Jinxie, the mate it gave for her is far from my ideal vision....

So I was wondering, is there anything special with the second pet you recieve?
Is it worth keeping and geneing him up or is it better for me to eventually buy a better mate for her?

It's been awhile since I've done that quest, but I'm pretty sure that there isn't really anything special about the second pet you get (That's the capture a pet, right?)

If you want to use a gene mutator on him, you can only use one and with the lesser one you don't get to choose. I personally think it'd be more worth it to get one from another player but he's still pretty ^^

It's possible he has some carried traits. The Sylesti I received from that quest, has one visible and one carried trait.

You can find out if he has any carried traits by using either a Standard or Exceptional Genetic Testing Kit. There are users who offer free testing.

The second pet is just a free opposite gender pet with random traits.nothing special.

If you don't like his traits and are looking for specific ones, it'll probably be better to buy the pet you want, or just search if there are pets with the traits you want on public breeding. So you can breed your pet to other's without buying. You can do that by using the advanced search (top left corner)
