How and where do you get trait points? 0.0
I'd really love to start gathering to make a new critter.

Also how does one go about getting diamonds on here?

You don't get trait points. You use diamonds (bought using real money) to buy something called essence. The stronger the essence, the more trait points you can use. Visible traits = 2 points. Carried traits = 1 point. You can find the 'diamond shop' under 'shops'.

There are 3 types of essences:
- Regular essence
- Enhanced essence
- Mythical essence

You may have noticed how some critters in the wild have different colored names?

White = Common = 0GP
Green = Uncommon = 1GP
Blue = Rare = 2GP
Purple = Epic = 4GP
Orange/Yellow = Legendary = 6GP
Red = Mystical = 8GP

As you progress your game, you'll see the rarer Sylesti's pop up with higher GP (more trait points), but you'd have to get traps to match their names color wise. You can also get up to legendary eggs in the scale shop, which costs you nothing but your time through nurturing pets. The higher the scale cost, the more GP the pet has, and as these eggs are considered tamed, they can also be mutated for further GP.

The downside of tamed pets is that their traits are randomized and so you may not always find the pets with traits that you want or like. This is where the breeding aspect of the gam kicks in~ Find pets with traits you like and selectively breed them to get a pet you really want~ the colors might be washed out and ick while you breed, but once you get all the traits you want, you can change any of your pets colors with pet dyes! Through breeding, you can create a pet with up to the maximum of 12 GP, in other words, a 6 visible pet!
