It says that blocking disallows critical hits, but I get hit critically...often

For your screenshot, it seems you are taking 'Idle Position' instead of blocking. Do you have at least 10 mana when blocking? o:
The block only have its full benefit when you have at least 10 mana, that includes the critical hits negation.
