"Dude, what are you doing?" The voice seemed to come out of no where, and then Cali felt a hand on her shoulder. She grinned and continued dirtying her hands with the cadaver.
"Seriously, what are you doing?"
The girl didn't turn to the origin of the voice, "What do you think I'm doing?"
"I really hope you're not-"
"Not what? Ripping out the heart of a self-righteous jerk who got what was way over due him?"
"Yeah."
Cali turned to look up at her companion, blood and bone splatter on her who body from sing a saw to crack open the chest cavity on the cadaver made her look even more insane than she really was. "You have a a problem with what I do then you are free to leave. Otherwise just relax, sit back, and enjoy the symphony of the universe." As she spoke an eery sadistic grin spread across her face. "Besides, it;s not like it's illegal or anything."
"Breaking into a locked medical school to steal a fresh cadaver not even treated with chemicals, and bringing it to a closed for the night kindergarten probably counts as 'illegal' but hey, who am I to be scolding you on the laws of the civilized world?"
Cali grimaced and turned back to her work. "You're just a meandering jerk y'know that? I'm going to have fun when you finally die."
The normally peppy ginger boy turned even more pale than once thought possible. Quickly enough he perked up and with a sly smile replied, "Ah, but then who would you have to devour the nasty little souls that haunt and pester you so? There are not many Necromancing Gingers out there. And even if you did manage to find one he or she would surely despise the likes of you. Graveling."
'Graveling' a term used to describe the lowest of low among the necromancers. Cali was a graveling, one who couldn't fully grasp sanity and reality.
"I love you so much daddy, which is why I will be the one to kill you, and to eat your heart." She said with a soft voice.
The ginger boy rolled his eyes, "God you are so disgusting. How did you ever make it through basic training?"
Cali ignored the comment and held up the heart. She took time to admire it. Such a fragile thing, a physical heart. It looked nothing like the depictions that most children drew, or that odd double peaked shape that was glorified on February 14.
After looking over her possession for a reasonable amount of time, Cali split the heart in two and handed one half to her companion, "Take it." This was more of a demand from a mad woman than a request.
The Ginger boy looked at it with disgust.
"Take it or I'll never give you back your name." She said.
The ginger boy reluctantly took the half heart and turned away as he watched Cali devour her piece.
"Yup, disgusting as hell." he murmured.
"Eat it ginger boy!"
He looked at the heart and reluctantly swallowed it whole. The things a Necromancer had to do when pared with a Graveling. He gave her hell, she gave him hell, but the fact of the matter was that he stuck with the girl to make sure she wouldn't go buck wild and command an army of the dead to destroy all life. That, and this Graveling, by some cosmic accident, was the only being who could discover the true name of those effected by the nameless curse. Something that soul stealing Necromancers frequently where subjected to.
"Are you done yet woman?" The ginger boy said as he tried to hold in the contents of his stomach. Not that it was strange to him to eat raw heart, that was quite common among Necromancers, just that he didn't like raw meat.
Cali looked at him with a bloody grin. She then looked to her left and right, "We had better get going." She said.
"I don't like that look."
"I left a note on a cop car that there would be a body here." As she spoke the words the sounds of sires filled the air, and flashing blue and red lights where seen through the windows. Oh the unstable girl was really starting to grate on his nerves tonight.
"Then let's go through the closet!" He said as he took her hand, quickly pulled out a white chalk stick from his pocket, and proceed to draw a box on the door.
No sooner than that and th two found themselves in the underbelly of the Necromancers alley.
"That was a close one." The ginger boy said as he caught his breath.
Cali was puking in a nearby trash can. "I hate those chalk portals! Why can't you get charcoal?!" She groaned.
"Just be happy no one saw us."
Next time...Who knows. These stories are most likely gonna be a collection of unrelated shorts I write up while bored at work. ^_^ Thanks for reading! Toodles!

You're here to observe. You're not actually physically here, just, observing. You are not here but, you are here. Like a window. No, not like a window. Something else. It is to hard to explain. That is not important right now. You are observing. What are you observing? Is it light? Is it cold? Is it tasteful? Is it painful? Is it mellow? What is it? Does it elicit any emotions from you? I see a dark room. It may help to turn on a light, or strike a match. Personally, I wish something would illuminate the room. Is it a room though? I don't know what it is, I'm just an observer like you.
Did you hear that? It sounded like shuffling to me, did you hear anything? There it goes again. Sounded distant, echo-y. I don't know. Things seem to be getting a bit tense there though. I definitely hear something. Sounds like panic.
Yes! Those are foot steps. They are rather quick in paced, like running. Not like, it is running. A scream! You had to have heard that! Didn't you? Didn't you?! I still can't see anything, but I can hear it, can't you? It's getting intense there. I can feel the fear, the tension. It's maddening. How can you not hear it? How can you not feel it? There's heat. So much heat, it's making me sweat. Can't you feel it? Oh this heat is practically unbearable. I-I have to take of my coat. I'm not wearing a coat. Did you wear a coat? That's not important. There's something going on in there.
What was that? I wish I could see. Did you feel that? How could you not feel that? Did you hear that?! How could you miss that? It was so loud...so very loud. I feel funny. I feel like I'm getting cold. There's something warm running down my back. I can't move. Can you move? Do you smell that? It-it smells a lot like...like...

It was late, I was heading out of the bar and onto the deck to get some fresh air when I heard a rowdy group of guys poking fun at a young woman because a button on her bust popped off. I knew the ring leader from my past life. He was still just a big jerk. I knew I had changed a lot since I last saw him, not just physically but emotionally and spiritually.
My fear told me to back away and don't interfere. Bull ******. I wasn't going to let them do that to her.
"Hey!" I shouted and put myself between them and the girl. "Leave her alone." I told them.
The guys all looked at me, a short ginger who could easily be taken down by one of those muscle heads.
The main guy recognized me immediately, only by my voice. He laughed and started calling me names that brought back the memories of my past, he was trying to elicit those demons of mine of a lie I long shed. I only smiled at him. Finally the laughter died down and I could feel he was getting angry. After a short silence I looked up, never had I seen a man flinch like that, never had I felt my own strength well up in me. I felt a boiling anger starting from my feet up. The girl behind me just stood and watched, the group of men looked to be caught in confusion, and fear.
I didn't expect what happened next. I was speaking, I knew I was saying something worth-while. All I remember was saying this, "You may be physically strong but that is all you will ever have and that will weaken greatly over time. Yeah, you're strong, but me? I am powerful. I may not be able to take you down like you can easily do to me, but I am powerful. I have gone through hell, I was******d and abused, I decided to take that, I chose not to be a victim, I chose to use what hurt me to heal others. I may be small and physically compared to you I may be weak, but I will always, and forever, be stronger than you could ever hope to be."
After I stopped everything seemed silent, even the people around who where watching the scene went quite. The group left with tails between their legs. I walked over to the edge of the balcony, the girl followed, everyone was still watching and slowly an applause grew. I leaned against the railing and the girl followed suit, lighting a cigarette. The appluase died down and the girl let out a long drag of smoke. "Damn," she said, "I have never felt anything like that." She smiled and looked at me, tears where streaming down my face. A look of concern came over hers, "What's wrong?" She asked. I looked at her, smiling from my very core. I noticed her expression turned from smiling to shock, "What is it?" I asked.
"I have never seen such a look in anyone. I have never seen such fierce eyes. Your whole demeanor is like something I would expect to see from a warrior. Why are you crying?" She seemed to be tearing up herself.
Words caught in my throat and I wrapped my arms around her. She started to cry too, we weren't sad, or in pain, it was a wonderful thing. We stayed like that for a while. When I pulled away I was finally able to speak, "I have always felt like a child, until then." I really had changed, like a phoenix rising from ashes. I shed my past demons and rose victorious.
