One of my favorite features is the battling system, but one thing I hate is grinding. Now I know this game has SO many more regions unlocking in the progressive future with SO much more to do, and I get that in any game there is going to have to be some kind of level grinding involved (trust me, I played FF7 for years, let alone the rest of the FF series), but I feel there is a huge imbalance in exp gain.
By the time I was getting access to the final dungeon for Viridian Meadows, the dungeon previous was giving me absolutely zilch for exp. However, the Nightfall Bandit Dungeon was like a colossal leap. And I get it. It's the final zone, it's supposed to be tough. So I go do missions instead. Maybe getting a few levels on my party members will help, right? Except now missions have been fixed to give less experience for higher requirements. My level 48 is failing Hard missions in stats she has 200+ points in. It seems that unless I put every available point into the stat in question, my Sylesti won't succeed (or will just barely succeed). This doesn't bode well for my main party Sylestis who aren't getting any experience in the field, pets whose stats are more rounded because they're actually fighting things that hurt, unless I plan to shell out gold left and right to reset their stats all the time.
I feel some kind of balance needs to be met here. My suggestion is that either experience get increased (even if just a little) in dungeons or Missions be readjusted to a more balanced level. Don't get me wrong, I like a challenge. But mindless grinding and hours of idle time in missions eventually just wears thin.

@Shadowphyr
It's really hard to base everything on just the introductory region.
When the 2nd region launches, it will have new missions starting with a Level 25 Easy, Level 30 Medium, etc. Which will reward hefty experience to pets just coming out of Viridian Meadows without being super difficult.
Awhile back, we removed diminishing experience on Missions so that any pet can level off of any missions... it just may take awhile if they're doing low level missions.
And as I said in a post somewhere a bit ago, missions are entirely dependent on stats. The color of the mission typically requires a pet of that level to have a minimum of that gear type. So the Very Hard missions are aimed at Level 25 Pets with 4 Legendaries or Mythicals. And if it's a 'Strength' mission, the pet will need a lot of points spent into strength.
Also, the first tier of missions are a little less giving than future ones. It's just sorta the nature of the equations.
The big issue here is that the cap atm is 50 whereas the content caps at 25. It creates a really big imbalance. You think a level 50 pet should roflstomp content.. but it's still wearing Level 25 (or less) gear. And that makes a huge difference. It was our mistake in allowing the cap to be so high so soon in the game... but we didn't want the cap to be too small where people 'cap out' after a day of playing.
So... I think in summation, it's something that we will monitor very closely with the 2nd region and adjust what we feel needs to be adjusted. But as it is currently, it's too hard to make an accurate decision.
I hope that helps explain the logic behind the numbers. If not, just let me know.

Oh no, I TOTALLY get the numbers. I understand it's really tough to balance out. I just know I personally struggled with Talon (and I know others have as well) when my party was majority level everyone kept telling me they needed to be. (My main was upwards of 45 wearing almost all the highest gear I could get from highest Reputation with Esior's Haven along with some nice drops while the rest were well into their 30s with the same kind of outfitting.) It wasn't until I had a majority party of 40+ wearing equipment I borrowed from another player just to get through (because I have yet to have many really good equips drop, if any).
It's that sudden shift in balance that I was kind of referring to? I'm having a much easier time now, but every single one of my party members are 48 or above at this point (I kind of refuse to use lower). And I don't know what to do with missions since my level 48 Qitari with 2,677 Health failed a Hard mission geared for the Health stat. =/ That's six hours with one of my main Sylesti out of commission because I'm trying to get her some levels only to have her get nothing. At all.
