Hey its Galaxea. Sorry I haven't been on this area for awhile. Things got rather busy and then grew to crazy. anywho despite the busy season just getting going at work things in my personal life have calmed down and I decided to try out a new RPG. If this works well I may try a sylestia version. I am also thinking about doing a sylestia fanfiction about a different subject. So here is my first roleplay idea in forever.
The world is a pretty calm place compared to ancient times. Technology and science have an explanation for everything...or at least so they think. There are special places where ancient creatures of myth and legend still linger. Trails and havens link them across the globe. Collectively they are referred to as the underground. They both hide the more uncommon ones and help others to hide among human society. With the proper passwords rare magical items are still bought and sold to those who know the truth through the black market. The rest of the world is blissfully unaware. While all is calm on the surface danger is brewing. While machines cannot act on their own, they are easily controlled by those with evil intent. People have become complacent their emotions numbed. They have forgotten the power of the heart. When gangs become armies and the world is torn apart by war only one hope remains. To unite with the forgotten half of Earth's residents. Belief is a powerful force and perhaps the only thing that can revive humans fighting spirit. The underground must come to light, but what will happen when magic and machinery meet?
Rules
1 No godmodding
2 No character is invinceable, Immortal yes, impervious to harm, no.
3. No controlling or killing other characters without permission.
4. At least be civil to the other players.
5. While this RPG is fantasy based it does not follow exact mythology. (There can be more than one pheonix etc, etc) So please do not try to force that on other players in this RPG. If their character is accepted please leave it at that.
6. Please do not post more than two or three times a day. I have lost several RPGs due to players constantly posting and completely taking up the entire RPG. Not all of us have the time to be on the computer 24/7 so please show the rest of us this consideration.
7. Please no gory or inappropriate posts. Not only do we have children on the site, but this RPG host (Me) is rather sqeamish.
8. Most of all have fun.
Accepted races
Elves
Fairies
Merfolk
Dryads (Tree nymphs)
Satyrs
Centaurs

I'd really ( And I mean REALLY) love to join. I have one question for the moment though. For merchants do we 'make up' what they sell? An example for what I'm asking is, Say I made a character (A merchant), you accepted, and the rest of that stuff occurs then we role-play. Do I say I start out with # of- for example- vials of some kind of potion, or would you pick out the supplies I can start with?
EDIT:
Thought of another question: Can I use an image for the appearance?

You can make up what you sell within reason. Potions, Pheonix feathers, powdered dragon scales/Teeth, claws, magical plants, fairy dust etc, etc. You may use an image for your character. I usually dont because none of the images I find do justice to the image in my head and I'm not very good at drawing.

(Dis good? :3)
Name Jelka
Race Dryad
Age 198 (Young for really almost any magical being)
Appearance PersonalityNaive, curious and adventurous. She'd more likely then not forget things, like names-even her own at times- but she's good at remembering small facts and most people. Childish at times, mainly from her past.
Job Merchant
Skills Can 'talk' to plants and 'hide' in ponderosa pine trees. She is rather resistant to normal injuries. (Ex. Broken limps, cuts, etc.) Good at tinkering with something new until she figures it out.
Hobbies Temporally giving human machinery a 'personality' with magically influences.
Brief Bio When Jela was younger her tree was greatly injured, causing her to loose most of her memory. She never was quite the same. Soon she learned about the underground and therefore, humans. She's always been fascinated with them and likes to learn anything she can about the odd race.
Other She calls the owl in the picture Timur. Jelka doesn't realize it but she subconsciously makes the little robot alive whenever she is awake. She thinks he's really alive and is her best friend.

Character accepted. However Giving the machines personality is a little over the top. However if you would like we could make it temporary like controlling the machines for a short time and making them act like that. I'm trying to avoid making the machines sentient in any way. So in other words the personlities she uses would be from her own imagination and the machine goes back to normal after she is done playing with it. As for your owl in the picture if you wanted to use him we could give him a personality and backstory. Something like an owl turned into a living metal or something like that to make it work better. That way he could retain a soul. The regular machines in the RPG have no souls and are mostly intended to be destroyed. (Muahahahaha. Yesss I spend too much time wanting to destroy my computer at work.=p) Anywho let me know if this works for you, if not we can figure something out I'm pretty flexable with most things.

That actually would work perfectly. It fits in with her childishness rather well, kind of like a living Toy Story in her mind XD I'll go fix it.
As for the Owl. . . I was hoping it could be almost an exception or maybe it's just her favorite and if she's awake she subconsciously keeping it 'alive'. Would that work? :3

I was thinking it could be either that or an owls soul magicly implanted in a robots body. (A sort of science/magic experiment gone wrong). Either one works. Although I admit your idea kind of makes him seem like an imaginary friend, which is kind of funny and does fit in well with your characters described nature. So whichever idea of those you like best you can use.
