I don't really know if this is the place to put it, but I didn't want to put a random question in the Breeding Section.
I've looked at the guides available, but I'm just not 100% sure of what I'm doing exactly.
There are three male and three female Zolnixi that I can generate, and all have 6 Trait Points available.
Would it be better to generate them all with carried genes or spread out the genes among the six via Visual and/or Carried.
Hopefully the question makes sense, I'm terrible at explaining things.

I'm not sure which is better, since different users breed differently.

if you do all carried, there is a chance that you can get full vis, though that chance is super low.

If you do 3vis, your pet is guaranteed that number of traits that will be passed down, but it also limits the max number of traits your pet will have.

I'll personally go for a 2 vis 2 carried.
So male AAaa00
female 00aaAA
Kids will definitely at least carry 4 traits, and possibly carry all/have 2vis 4 carried.

Whichever way you choose, just make sure that each trait is present in at least 1 pet. =)

Okay I see, thank you.
Taking your prefered method of breeding, if I bred two of the children together, it may create a 4 visual and 2 carried baby? Or some other mix of that. (I don't have a clue what I'm talking about. lol)

well... it depends on what the kids have as well....

ok, I'll explain how my choice of breeding will work out in a few generations.

PARENTS:
male AAaa00
female 00aaAA

so kids can be aa00aa, aa0aaa, aaa0aa, aaaaaa, aa0Aaa, aaA0aa, aaaAaa, aaAaaa, aaAAaa.
and I'll only keep kids with at least 7 points (1 point more than the parents),
so I'll keep: aaaAaa, aaAaaa, aaAAaa.

This might take multiple breedings to get enough non-related kids that has enough traits to keep. unless you're lucky. xD

1ST GEN KIDS:
so ideally I'll have at least 7 trait points kids. wherever possible, I'll try to match a vis trait with a mate with carried/nothing in that slot.

so eg:
male aaaAaa
female aaAaaa

kids that i'll keep (ie at least 1 point more than parents): 2vis 4 carried, 3vis with at least 2 carried, 4vis (with or without carries), 5vis (with or without carries). (and if you're super lucky, 6vis)
[not typing all the possible combinations cause it'll be too much and i'm lazy xD]

but the min number of trait points should be 8.

2ND GEN KIDS:
so ideally, I'll have at least 8 trait points kids. again, wherever possible, I'll match a vis to a carried/nothing slot.

but in this generation, the type of kids I'll keep for future breeding would be different.
Instead of just having 1 more trait points than the parents, I'll also require them to have something in every gene/mutation slot.

so kids that I'll keep: 3vis 3carried, 4vis 2 carried, 5vis 1 carried. (and 6vis!)

I have this extra requirement so that I have a decent chance of completing the project from this generation onwards. But this also reduces the number of kids you'll keep this round, so it might take a bit more breeding than usual.

I sometimes make an exception to keep 5vis with no carries if the turnout for kids with good trait points is low.

then keep breeding, matching vis to carried traits where possible, and keeping only kids with more points than the parents.... until the completed project pops out. =)

Hope you understand and didn't get confused. xD

Oooh I see, I see. I just didn't really understand how to match traits to get them to be visual; because the whole parent giving one point into a certain trait thing really worked when there's multiple traits I would like passed down to a child. And I thought that the parent can only give one point overall.

Thank you so much for your time and help! I cannot wait to start breeding

You're welcome. =)

Each parent must at least carry something in the same trait for the baby to have a vis in that trait. If the parent is a visible for the trait, the baby is guaranteed something in that trait. If the parent is a carry, there's a 50-50 chance the baby will get the trait. That's the main gist. ^^

That's perfect thank you. I see where your breeding strategy is then.
It's really good!
Also Happy Halloween!

Thank you. I can't wait to hand out candy to the kids.
So my plan for the genes are 2 visual and 2 carried
Male 1: AAccBBcc Male 2: IIaaAAbb Male 3:CCiiCCaa
Then the females are the same.

@.@ not exactly sure the traits you;re putting. xP

But i'm sure you've worked out the 2 vis and 2 carried. =)
all the best with breeding!
