There have been a lot of new threads in the general discussion section discussing users and their submissions for the fall festival themed contest. Which is great! I love seeing users come together to discuss and improve designs. However, I feel that this is getting... maybe a little repetitive, to have a whole new thread made for each user.

I propose that the admins create an additional thread at the same time that they create the design submission thread. This additional thread can be called Fall Festival General Themed Discussion or something along those lines, and is essentially a place for people to post about their favorite designs and ask for feedback! Alternatively, a subforum for theme design threads could be created, much like the custom item sales thread.

I'm very tired so I don't feel like I worded this very well, sorry ;O; I'll stop by later when I can think straight to make it less rambling.

I see a lot of these threads as well, and as Don said it does get pretty crowded in the general discussions area; 6 on the first page of general discussion right this moment. An official one would really cut back on some of the clutter, and it'd probably draw better attention than all of the ones sitting around on their own. A place where everyone can show off, ask for feedback, and give props to their favorites all in one place... Sounds perfect!

I can admit I'd be tempted to post on an official thread to get some second opinions myself; I'm often torn between two or three designs when we're limited to one per species. But for now... I think the General Discussions has more than enough themed discussion threads.

I'll be honest, I don't approve of the threads in General Discussion or people asking in General Chat because everyone is struggling with designs and it just gets incredibly repetitive, especially in situations where you've got the same user posting multiple threads, posting about it in Gen Chat etc. etc. There's only so much other users can help a person with designs before it stops being productive.

I think a Discussion thread or separate subforum which is only available during design-time would be a great idea. Everyone who needed help could post a thread looking for that help, guilt free and knowing they're not spamming another dedicated forum. This would definitely be useful for people who need a little help with colour tweaks, naming, etc. and would be another great social feature.

I know I'd make time in my day to go into the subforum, look through people's posts and give them advice as it would all be contained in one place rather than flooding the rest of the site and it'd be awesome to see people's creativity. I find it rather tedious when General Discussion is full with people asking for feedback and a great deal of these threads aren't responded to because people don't think to look for them in General or they are having the same issues themselves.

Guilty confession: I personally don't tend to comment in the design threads in the General Discussion because I worry that constantly bumping them will knock other discussions off the front page and fewer people will see actual discussion that will continue after the end of the design period. Design threads only benefit one person, whereas a good amount of the threads in General Discussion are useful for the whole site. I'd happily get involved in these design threads if they were elsewhere.

EDIT: Though just an additional design thread would also work, would probably produce less clutter and is less taxing than making a separate forum. The ping system means we should all still be able to help each other out within one thread :)

I would support something like this. Personally I think a sub-forum would work better than a thread, as there could potentially be a LOT of people posting back and forth on a single thread. A sub forum would make more sense to me, but I guess that depends on what is doable for Fai and Krin.
