Joel huffs as he loads the last bag of corn into the back of the old blue ford, slamming the tail gate as he finishes. "Good to go Ed!" He yells getting a honk of the horn as an answer before the truck pulls away. Joel wipes the sweat away before going back in the front of the store to cool off. He rubs his shoulder as he sits. Nancy was wiping the counter off again for the thousandth time that day. "You need to get that shoulder looked at." She insists. Joel sighs looking at her. "Thanks for reminding me Nancy I have to leave so I can see the doctor before I go home." He stands again clocking out before getting into his beat up black ford truck, extended cab, and driving towards the doctor.

As he walks in the office the sound of coughing overwhelmed him making him sit in the farthest corner of the room waiting his turn to see the docter

Katherine finishes with a patient before walking back into the waiting room. Sighing as she sees many more people coming in sick. Maybe it was just a virus she thought to herself as she talked to a nurse. The nurse quickly walked over sending the coughing man to another doctor. Assigning the newcomer to Katherine. She walks to another room, sterilizing the bed and needles as she waited for the nurse to bring in the new patient.

The nurse walks up to the man "If you would fill out this paper, the doctor can see you in a moment." she says walking back to the counter.

Joel nods taking the paper and pen. He quickly fills out the papers yet double checks to make sure they are filled out correctly. He hands it back to the nurse before sitting to wait again. A man on the other side of the room was coughing horribly to the point he could not breathe. Joel watches as some of the nurses try to help the man, finally having to take him to the back to see the doctor. Joel was concerned by this hoping he was not sick.

Katherine watches as a man coughing horribly goes past her room. Her heart sank, he probably wouldn't make it through the night. That cough had been going around all day.

A nurse walks up to the man again "Come with me and I'll take you to your room and the doctor will be in, in a moment." She says smiling, ready to lead the man into his room.

Katherine leaves the room to go look at the paper her patient had turned in and look at his old records. She goes through the procedure before she would see the patient. By now it seemed like a drill from the long day.

Joel stands following the nurse to the room ready to get out of this place. He sits in the chair waiting yet again for doctor. At least it was quieter here.

The mans coughing continues, yet slows. He continues to hold his chest as his breath comes in gasps. His heart rate slows till it stops all together.

Katherine stops half way to the room as the man stops breathing. Her heart sinking even more. She takes a deep breathe before walking into the room where a new patient sat. "What would be the problem today sir?" she asks shutting the door behind her. A fake smile plastered on her face as she sat down in her computer chair to record what he says is wrong with his shoulder.

"I've been having trouble with my shoulder ma'am. My boss told me to come in today, if I had known it was this bad here I would not have came in when I did." Joel says rolling his shoulder again. He did not feel safe in this place, he felt like he was surrounded by death.

Katherine types quickly. She then stands walking over to he man "would you mind rolling up your sleeve so i can take a look at your shoulder?" She asks looking down at him in the chair. He was suppose to sit on the bed but she didn't want to make him move.

Joel nods rolling up his sleeve. "You don't have to be afraid I don't bite." Joel smiles.

The back door burst open as a team of nurses wheels a man in on a stretcher. "We got a live one! There was a pileup on interstate 112! Need impediment help from the doctor!"

Katherine slightly smiles "Yes of course, sorry." She looks at it hesitantly reaching out to touch it . "Tell me when it hurts." She gently presses on different places on his shoulder.
