I'm one of those people that once they start a book...I have to finish it, even if I hate it or not. It just bothers me if I don't finish it lol. I usually read at least 3 books a week...but I am going on like a month and a half now of trying to get through Dragonfly in Amber.
It is the second book in the Outlander series...and I really loved the first book...but this book is so freaking BORING. I seriously have like 150 pages left and I still just cannot push myself to finish it.
It blows my mind that it has like 4 1/2 stars on Amazon reviews and other sites. Kinda like the book Night Circus...hyped up talked about book with great reviews...and I read it and am just like WTH is this, I don't even..../facepalm
But once I get through this abomination I have the book Warm Bodies waiting for me lol.

I know exactly what you mean. I loved Outlander, but had to force myself to read Dragonfly in Amber. The rest of the books get good again.
Don't try the Scottish Prisoner. It's insanely boring, I never finished it.

I just don't understand why this book has such good reviews...I mean like...just nothing really is going on, it is almost like it is plotless. I wanted to read the rest of the series, but was so scared that I will get stuck with another 1000 page boring whopper lol. I will take your word for it though and try the rest!

I don't get the great reviews either, I think it might just be hype because of the popularity of the first one. I don't know that it's necessarily no plot, but more like several plots. They just didn't seem to mesh well together and there was a lot of back and forth.
I like historical fiction so I was expecting that and not the more modern stuff. And I adore JamieXClaire and wanted to find out what would happen with them.

I'm currently between books but I'm headed to the bookstore today so that should change soon.
I just finished Cloud Atlas which I really enjoyed and reread Les Mis before going to see the movie.

I'm reading the Guardians of Ga'Hoole series all over again.
Solistia, if you like bad words, some. . .romantic moments, and violence. . .you should enjoy it! (The books get more violent after the 1st)

Well my husband got me a bunch of new books for Christmas so:
FInished;
Journey to wudang series (Kylie Chan)- Hell to heaven, Heaven to wudang (For those interested i recommend starting with the previous series The Dark Heavens trilogy written by the same author as many of the things in the Journey to wudang trilogy will be confusing unless you read the first three -for instance: who and what John Chen really is and why he is fading in and out and why Simone has the cool/annoying ability to summon elementals)
Going to read soon:
Dresden Files Jim Butcher) Cold Days
Dragonlance: Dragons of Autumn twilight (why are there no books set in eberron!)
Kharkanas trilogy (Steven Erickson): Forge of darkness
