If I recall correct, if it's too hungry it won't fight, go on missions and the like? But I was wondering - can pets die of hunger?

Nope, they'll never die or disappear from your stables as a result of hunger. xD
Otherwise, a certain someone would have a lot of empty stables...

I too got soooo attached to some of my super old pets, that if they died I might cry of broken heart. TTwTT
They're just pixels, but I love my pixel pets too you know?

Yes, I do know I've played others games like this. Plus I cry sometimes when I read books.
