I don't understand something that is most likely very simple.
When I created my first pet I decided to make everything carried so although my first pet wouldn't stand out much maybe it's offspring would.
I stood their for about half an hour clicking the "Test Breed" button and not a single thing in her carried traits ever showed in any of them.
Can carried traits ever become visible traits??

The offsprings have a chance to have visible traits if both your pair have at least carried traits in same slots.
So for example, if your starter has carried traits in gene one, two, and three and the male has carried/visible traits only in gene two and three, your offspring can only have 2 visible and 1 carried traits max (visible gene two and three, carried gene one) since those are the only slots that your pair match.

Thanks,
I'm still slightly confused but that pretty much answered my question.

Wait,
Now I'm really confused.

So if my Female has Dragon Scales in mutation one I'll never see that on offspring unless the male has something in mutation one??

That is correct. You will be more likely to see said trait on an offspring if the male has a trait in m1 that is just as recessive as dragon scales, or more recessive than it. The male having m1 as visible also increases the likelyhood of the trait in m1 being visible on the offspring.
(a popular way to predict the likelyhood of traits appearing is by making punnett squares. If you do not know what those are, google them.)

You can either wait or you can speed up the process by feeding the sylesti Magical Pies (that'll add 6 days / 144 hours to the sylesti's maturity. Magical Pies can be purchased from the Diamond shop for 100 diamonds. Most people just wait.

Pets age as follows:
72 hours becomes a hatchling
216 hours becomes an adolescent
648 hours becomes an adult
