Why when Im in battle , do the traps keep failing .... Even when I lower the pets health..... Is there some sort of trick im missing , or do the traps just have a high failure rate , can some1 plz explian?????

Yes traps have a chance to fail... the better your traps are/lowering the pet's health the more likely they'll succeed. You can purchase better traps in Sanctuary of Saerielle, which is in Umbra Forest. You can also purchase 100% guarantee pet traps from the Diamond Shop too.
