So I think some other pet sites I've seen celebrate days where they released certain pet species. I thought it would probably be a fun thing to apply to this site ^w^ I know we have a lot of species but it would be fun!

Things to apply could be:

- Cheaper essences for that species for the day.
- Species related items
- Higher catch rate for that species/ more chances to catch it
- One or two new traits.
- Official Forum contests


I know that would probably be extra work for the artists x_x

Can we name names? lol... Neopets did this, with each species having its own special "holiday". It wasn't a real big deal, and I don't think they did it for every single species at first, I think they basically just released a ton of pet themed items that day, which for them they did on a near daily basis anyway, the pet days were just related to that pet rather than random stuff.

I think this would be cool here too though. As you say, the pet in question would maybe have a higher chance of showing up in all the zones (or maybe better... had a higher chance of getting carries and vis on them!), maybe get the bandits to wear a theme related costume that might only drop for that single day of the year (would be more set up initially, but you could re-use the costumes each year so it wouldn't have to be a big deal down the road, you could even do it so that each year you add a new piece to the costume- this year do the outfit, next year do a crown or something for the head, the following year do a held pet or wings, etc).

Maybe you could give out a random prize based on everyone that HAS one in their inventory? I mean, a lottery kind of thing or something where, for example, every Aurleon you have gets a ticket on Aurleon Day, entered in a raffle, and the tickets can win random prizes like when they do the lottery after the Eggling Auction kind of thing.

Fai could do a round of the pet game where everyone pitches in to randomly decide the traits of the theme species, and/or other forum games like the Pick-a-door, Coloring Page, Word Search, etc. Wouldn't need a zone or anything special like that, just some fun games here and there.

You could space the different species out between the regular festivals to give us something to look forward to when the next festival is months away. The four seasonal exclusives could have their special day during their own festival though- Aeri would have been in this last spring one, Ligh in the next Summer one etc.

I think this would be great! It might be a little more work to set it up the first year or so, but I think in the long run, and as the site gets bigger this could be a cool way to fill in the calender with content to make things interesting, that wouldn't necessarily add a ton of work onto the site admins and artists.

Yay some one likes the idea ! I really like the bandit outfit idea. Obviously if this were to become a thing it would be put in place AFTER all the other stuff they have planned is put in place. I am most active on this site when there are festivals. After they are over I sort of go on hiatus. So this is something I'd totally look forward to.

This could be something we look into for the relaunch. Atm, we don't have very many 'tools' in place to make stuff like this easy. So probably for relaunch I'll be creating a lot more tools for myself where I can easily set things up to automatically run themselves.

But Fai and I have discussed species-specific essence sales and stuff before.
