So I'm looking for some writing prompts to practice my writing skills. All that I have already done is below. Just give me a starting sentence or a prompt. PS. I'm a fangirl so this might lead from original ideas to fanfiction.. or just give me a prompt for fanfiction that is A.OK to! Also, anything in bold was part of the prompt.

They say everyone who looks into their family history will find a secret sooner or later, and that is exactly what happened to Mercedes Vasco. Mercedes better known as Mercy created weapons, it was a family run business. She never really questioned the logic because most everyone in the Darkstream district used or at least carried a weapon. It wasnt until she started traveling with her friend Artemis that she started learning more and more about her family. Not only did she learn that she had two older brothers but also that her families business was illegally run. Apparently her father had committed a crime and the the the overseers had told him that if he shut down his business he would not be arrested. Of course he ran from the law and continued selling his weapons under a different name.

The accident wasn't her fault, well not exactly. Artemis hadnt been trying to blow up the whole market place, she just missed her trajectory by well, a lot. She and Mercy had been planning to blow up the overseers headquarters in Coalstack city for a while now, they had even brought home made grenades courtesy of Mercy. Ari had whipped up a grenade launcher the night before, but something must have gone wrong. Mercy said that it was probably a loose screw in the launcher that sent the grenade so far of course, but that wasnt what the duo needed to worry about at the time. What they needed to worry about was the fact that they blew up a whole market place with a grenade.

Spider threads caught at her face, a sign that no-one had been there yet. Gwen waved her arms frantically swatting the sticky webbing off. She wasnt the one to volunteer for missions like this, ones that led to dark, spider filled caves that held one piece of treasure. Gwen wondered why they even needed this bracelet, and why she was the one sent to retrieve it. Her friends had said she was the perfect one to go because her bracelet allowed her to turn into something small to get past traps. Of course she hated the plan and immediately tried to worm her way out, but to no avail. She was upset with the fact that she had to walk the whole way down, if she were volitant she could just fly all the way there and the traps would be no problem.

Write about a phobia.
Alex of course would never admit it during a usual situation, but this was not one. She knew she had automatonophobia, and was trying to stay calm. Mercy and her had strayed from the side of Artemis to their own path, which included getting trapped in a room with ventriloquist's dummies that were alive and walking. Mercy was backed up to a large wardrobe while Alex was having a panic attack in the corner. Alex really hated fake humanoids.

I have prompts I re-blogged onto my personal blog that I plan to write. Maybe you might find some you like too. There's some on my role play blog as well, but not as many.

This is cool! Here is a sentence, on the spot!

What was that thing? I didn't know- but one thing I was sure of- Kisoa Melody was right when she said I'd need this mirror before entering...

I love writing stories, and developing them off of prompts. Fantasy is my favorite genre! Anyway feel free to use anything in that sentence (if you want to, that is).

Here's a few prompts:

- Write a story about the future being different than we imagined it to be.

- There is a secret society of immortal beings intermingled with our own. What would happen if your character were to discover the identity of one such being?

- There actually is life on other worlds . . . us.

Write a story about giant turtles in the sky!

(No joke, right now in my creative writing class, I'm writing a children's story about how there are giant turtles in the sky and their sole purpose is to light lanterns that people send up to them. The lanterns contain wishes, and lighting them makes the wish come true.)
