So, I don't have anywhere else to talk about this and i'm a little upset to be honest. For some context I have aspergers syndrome (I have a lot of other normal autistic problems too), ADD, OCD and ADHD. Now, i've always wanted to do sports with other people like me, like people who understand what i'm going through and stuff. I went and looked it up today, there are only two organisations in my country/state for it and i'm not eligible for either.
The first is only for people with under 75 IQ. Let's be honest, I have an average or above average IQ. The second is for those with under 75 IQ or a physical disease or disability.
I mean I understand all that, but it kind of makes me think that what I have is not a valid disability. It is. I remember my mother taking me to a specialist at the hospital when I was around 10, they have me some sort of brain scan thing and my brain worked completely different to a normal brain and stuff.
So I guess i'm just saying, i'm not disabled enough apparently? I mean I struggle every day with my life and have a lot of difficulty understanding a lot of things. But obviously that's not enough. So if i want to do a sport, I have to go to normal classes where they probably won't be able to cater to me and my anxiety would be so high.
So looks like no sports for me.
