I do apologize if this is a known issue, I didn't see anything in the "known issue" threads but I could've missed it.

Anyway, I can't use the proficiency trees/points at all. The webpage completely locks up (Chrome actually prompts me to kill the page due to the unresponsiveness) and I've only gotten it to work once before it completely froze on me. I've tried it on multiple computers and browers. I've tried clearing my cache/cookies/ect. with no signs of improvements. I'm not exactly sure why it's happening as I have no issues with other webpages and I can even use other webpages while the proficiency tree page is locking up so it's exclusive to this site.

If you need more information, I'll gladly provide it. I just really want to be able to use the proficiency trees.

Hm. The proficiency page is built very bulky so my best guess is that your browser/computer isn't building the page fast enough before Chrome considers it to be stuck.

First, I'd suggest clearing your browser cache. Once you do that, try loading the page again and once you load it, just leave it there for 10 minutes. If Chrome asks to kill it, just hit the "Wait" option.

If after 10 minutes it still doesn't load, let me know.

It does seem to work, kinda. The only problem it still has is that when I've spent and saved the points, the page will re-load and subsequently freeze. I have to completely close the browser at that point because the prompt for "kill page/wait" never comes up but I'm not able to do anything.

What type of device are you on? And are you using any browser addons? If so, can you list them?

I'm using a 2013/2014 Toshiba Satellite Laptop. It's running on Windows 8.1. I have, for add-ons: WOT, AdBlock Plus, Avast (internet security), Ghostery, Emoji input, and De-illumination. I also have ChromeCast and Awesome Screenshot but those don't really interact with the website unless I actually use them.

It's possible that some of your addons are adding extra burden to the page loading. As I said, the Proficiency page is built really bulky (the scripts for it are probably by far the most of any page on our Site). Unfortunately, it's just an old page with old code that needs to be updated.

Are you able to whitelist our website on those addons that scan? I'm not familiar with most of those, but I'd imagine Avast, Ghostery (from just reading what it does), and maybe some of the others are scanning the page for threats, etc while it's loading. If they're scanning every line of the script code, I can imagine that will cause a lot of stress to the page as it loads.

So if you're able to whitelist Sylestia on those, you may see improvement.

I can see if whitelisting helps with AdBlock and Avast as Ghostery shouldn't *theoretically* do much to bog things down. I used to have NoScript but it was a beast to "train" and doesn't play well with these kind of sites.

As you said though, it's a pretty big/old set of code so I should probably be nicer to it (and my computer). I'm just glad it doesn't mean that I'll completely blocked off from using the trees!
