Uggggghhhh this is so annoying!! >_<
Just spent 20+ minutes working on my Luffox theme submission and on the LAST color, my mouse slipped and I hit randomize.
(I honestly hate the Luff's genes as it is... Soooo many mixed factors. This gene only uses this color, this gene uses three different colors, that one uses only two, and all of those whacky things to consider are on the SAME gene slot. Bleh. Then it all has to work with the second gene, which will cover either 80% of the body, or maybe 20%... And miraculously make them work together without clashing... >_<)
A confirmation before outright destroying a lot of meticulous work would be much appreciated...
Back to square one...

So...you're asking for something that reverts changes (including randomizations)? The title was kinda inaccurate aha. (was it asking for a confirmation for a feature that resets and randomizes? or a feature that confirms resets and randomizes? I thought it was the former when I read the title, but I think you're asking the latter?)
I feel like there was a suggestion before that suggested a confirmation for resets (like "Are you sure you want to randomize the colors/genes?" or something) before...I feel like you supported it already lolol.
This shouldn't be an issue with the new generator. The reset button is replaced with a small icon.
(provided that the randomize is right next to reset and it's very easy to lose it aha, maybe a tick option for asking to reset is a good way to go)

^^; Frustration tends to remove my language skills...
A confirmation popup before the generator resets or randomizes is exactly what I meant, like Black's post - only now applied to the new generator.
While Krin said it was supposed to be better for the new one, I've had MORE trouble now than ever before. All of the reset/randomize color buttons sit right above Color 2, and on the vertical plane it's almost center of the whole interface. Tiny buttons or not, they're in a pretty high-traffic spot for mouse clicks... I was actually trying to move my mouse to change M3 to visible when I hit the reset button... One snag of the cord, and boom. All is lost...
I'd rather take the extra second to confirm it every single time as opposed to losing upwards of 20 minutes due to a slip.

I would love to see this.. I can't tell you how many times I've accidentally reset or randomized everything. I've done it with my inventory too.. it's not fun.

Lol. Can't win with that button can I. I will try moving it somewhere else when I get the chance.

Lol, were you trying to with it?
Maybe move it to like a bottom corner or something...? I dunno lmao, it seems that stuff seems to be less complainative anytime if it's at a bottom corner than top corner for some odd reason.

I was going to try moving it down by the color history, yea.

Sounds like a good plan, if that still doesn't work..,well, remove the randomizing button and replace it with a potato, ROFL

Looking at the format now, I can honestly say that sticking it near the previously used colors may also pose a bit of a chance for misclicks since it's another high-traffic area.
For me at least o_O? But I do spend a lot of time trying out like five shades of the same color for every slot, and go through about 2-5 colors in total, so... 10-25 hex codes per color slot. Maybe I'm the only one who's that meticulous, but the previously used colors segment is one of my favorite new additions to the generator! I do wish it would only hold ONE copy of the hex code though. The way it's set now I can actually make it hold 000000, ffffff, 000000, ffffff, 000000, ffffff, so on and so forth, over and over again. Because of this I do lose a lot of other colors when I'm struggling between two or three options and keep flipping through them to make up my mind -_-; But I digress! (That's a suggestion for another day >.>; )
So far as moving the buttons go, I'd say...
Make the buttons about 1/2 of the size they are now, and stick them way down VERY bottom, beneath the giant color box area. And on the LEFT, to keep it far away from "SAVE" which is essential for inputting the selected color.
... and about a two spaces lower. Like the distance I used before adding more to my wall of text. :D
Second thought it to try sticking it back up the top and away from everything useful for designing the pet? Like... above the species select.
Reset Traits: ( / )
Reset Colors: ( / )
Species: [OPTIONS BOX]
I'd say 'below' species select, but one little lag spike and someone may hit a ( / ) when they go to click on an Aeri or maybe an Aurleon, since those would probably be hovering right over those traitorous little buttons.
Or, you know... Confirmation Box? ;)
I also miss the "RANDOMIZE" on the genes and mutations... Especially when it comes down to themed pet designing! With the old generator I could lock all of the colors and hit 'randomize' a dozen or so times to see a bunch of random genes and mutations thrown onto the design. If it passed, I was satisfied. Now the only option after viewing the traits individually is to just keep selecting random traits for random slots, which takes much longer than hitting a button to scramble traits.
(And scrambling traits is much less dire than colors. There are like... 2-20 traits per slot. And THOUSANDS of hex codes.)
._.; Think I've made a big enough wall of text. Time to run around in the maze! :D
