Personally, I favor the books more. They are more descriptive, meanwhile the movies are struggling to even follow the books.

Book:
1. Percy and Annabeth are 12 years old.
2. Grover is white( don't mean to sound racist)
3. It took 9 chapters for Percy to figure out his dad.
4. Percy and Annabeth are on the same team for Capture the Flag, and then Percy was attacked by Clarisse and a Hellhound.
5. Annabeth has curly blonde hair and grey eyes.
6. Dionysus, the God of Wine, was sent to run the camp as punishment.
7. Percy was sent to the Oracle to find more about his quest and was allowed to bring 2 friends.
8. Percy and the gang were met with many complications, and were given the pearls by a sea spirit.

Movie:
1. Percy and Annabeth are17 years old.
2. Grover is black( don't mean to sound racist)
3. It took like 15 minutes for Percy to figure out his dad.
4. Percy is not on the same team as Annabeth, and nowhere in the movie is either Clarisse or the Hellhound mentioned.
5. Annabeth has straight brown hair and blue eyes
6. Dionysus is never mentioned or shown.
7. Percy was never sent to the Oracle , and snuck out of camp followed by Grover and Annabeth.
8. The whole movie was basically based off of the Percy and the gang finding the pearls.
