Nicholas walked into the quiet town gazing around. Normally he avoided civilization when he could, however a man had to make a living. While dew covered grass was sweet he could not live off of that alone unlike his Mother's full blooded kin. In his human form no one would ever guess what he was. This allowed him to enter towns like this for work or supplies. Thankfully he still had the pay from his last job, so he would not have to seek for more work just yet. He would look for the needed supplies and perhaps stay a few days before moving on. Living wild did not mean that he did not appreciate the comforts of a roof over ones head, warm meals, and a reasonably soft bed.

Dawn paced back and forth at the edge of the forest, contemplating whether or not to go hunting or risk entering the town for food. She hated the thought of killing for nourishment but she'd been present in the town for a few weeks now and the rumours about her were spreading among the townspeople. She could feel their eyes on her when she passed and hear the whispers of fear and hate behind her back. She was sure they were going to attack her soon and either chase her away or, if she couldn't run fast enough, kill her.
A rustle behind her tore Dawn from her dark thoughts. It was a jackalope, a large one. She could fill herself up today and have enough meat left over to eat well for the next 2 days or 5 if she rationed it appropriately. She thrust her hand into her pocket and pulled out a few coins, sometimes she'd beg instead of hunting. The townspeople here were kind to her at first, as usual, but that never lasts long. She still had enough money for one good meal left over, however, and that was all it to persuade her.
She looked back to the jackalope and re-pocketed the coins. "You're safe for one more day, my friend, but do not cross my path tomorrow." With a deep breath she stepped forward and made her way into the town.

Oak watched from the saftey of the woods. He had no intention of leaving yet in a way he knew he could never stay. His owl like features made him look like something out of a fairytale, but he was indeed real. He sighed before taking a large step into the open field. The sun was warm on his feathers, making him feel somewhat better. He walks slowly, making the woods farther behind him.

Crimson watched the beast run across the field. He seemed to be scared of the open, yet how could something that big be scared? The smell of rabbit filled his dragon noise. He was hungry, and rabbit was on the menu. He walked silently to the road, making sure the rabbit could not see him. He pounced, crushing the horned rabbit. He bent his head to pick it up, when he felt the presence of another being. He turned to see a girl, and she looked...different. He was scared. In his dragon form he was clumsy and slow yet he did not want to shift for her to see. "Please don't hurt me, I mean no harm." He says to the girl.

Dawn put a hand to her mouth as the jackalope was crushed beneath the dragon's clawed forefoot. She let out a small pained whimper at the loss of life in front of her. Her eyes darted around as she tried to look anywhere but at the limp, fluffy body on the ground and she let her gaze fall on the dragon's scales, they were green. He must be a forest dragon, no wonder he had surprised her. It took a moment before she realized he'd spoken to her.
"I-I won't." She replied quietly, noticing that he seemed scared of her. Dawn knew how fear could make someone lash out so she stepped back. "S-sorry... I'm just going to... bye." She stumbled over her words as she backed away from the beast and, after giving the poor jackalope one final look of pity, turned and ran in the direction of the nearby town.

Crimson shifted into his human form. "Where you off to so fast?" He calls as he runs after her. He now seemed like just a normal boy yet he did not acted it. "Please." He says once he catches up to her. The horned rabbit was long gone left in the woods for the other animals.

Oak was afraid. He ran back to the woods not wanting anything to do with outside the woods. Once safe under the trees. He walks along the trail thinking of how he was going to overcome this fear. He stops when he sees the two humans. He hisses. Humans had left his woods alone till no that was.

Dawn was startled when the dragon changed into a human and even more so when he managed to catch up to her. She wasn't as fast as she usually was due to the fact that she hadn't eaten in so long. She couldn't outrun him in this state and not knowing his intentions drew her small scythe from the cloth at her waist.
"W-why are you following me?" She asked, holding the tool clumsily in front of her before hearing a hiss somewhere to the side of her.

Crimson stops. "It gets lonely in the woods, I just thought that we could travel to town together at least. Please I mean you no harm, just I want to give you a small gift, would you let me but you a meal? It's the least I can do." He smiles trying to seem nice. He looks to the beat in front of him. "Would you like to come too?"

Oak he stops hissing. This boy was trying to speak with him yet he had the gift of tongues. Oak was not scared being with a young dragon. He bowed showing his kindness. "Of...course." He would leave the woods and he would not be scared, he was with a noble beast.

Dawn lowered her scythe but didn't put it away. This boy was strange, offering to buy a meal for someone he'd just met. It was true she was hungry but she wasn't sure she wanted company. Her stomach growled loudly, making up her mind for her.
"Uh... Fine." She responded timidly. At least with him and the owlbear accompanying her the townspeople were less likely to try and run her out of town. She still felt odd not knowing who these two were so she introduced herself. "My name is Dawn."

Crimson smiled. "I'm Crimson." He holds put a hand to her. "It's very nice to meet you Dawn. But I must ask was that your rabbit I killed earlier? I am very sorry if it was." He begins to walk again. The beast I front of him, know as an Owl bear, was the largest animal he had ever seen being almost taller than the trees.

Oak stands from his bow. "I am Oak." His voice was deep and smooth somewhat like a roaring waterfall. He nods to the girl. "Dawn is a very nice name, I'm sure your a nice person."

Nicholas strolled around town looking at the different shops and their wares. Like most towns the market was the busiest place. He mostly needed food supplies, but he could use some other things as well. A few coils of rope to replace his frayed ones, a pair of winter gloves, and a new pair of boots. He looked around pricing what he thought he might need. Although in a small town there was not a lot to chose from.
