A horse snorts behind me as I stand on my hill. It was the leader of all horses. Breeding season was close and he did not like that there were other males in his group.

"Get out of here now!" The stallion yells at me. I back away, scared.

"Ok ok!" I say trying to get passed him. He bites at me as I past him. He catches some skin in his teeth. "Ow ok ok just let me pass!" I yell at him. He rares up and paws at my head. He was trying to kill me! I go to take off running but one of the lead mares kicks me in the side. I roll down the hill going head over heels. I land in the lake, now soaked and bleeding. I stand slowly and look back at my home. I was thrown out, laughed at. I slowly walk away with no clue where to go. My side hurt from the gash I recived from the mare. As I limp through the plains now alone I can't help but think if I will die out here. That is when I see the horse standing on the hill before me

Mysti watched her father drive the young stallion off. He usually became more aggressive come breeding season. Not like she could breed yet or that she had any prospects within the herd once the young stallions were driven away. She snorted in disapproval. Not that her father or any of the lead mares cared.

Sealgaire watched the young horse limp after being beaten by the herd.
Is.... that how the herd acts? By trying to kill one each other? He shook his head to shake the thought away, his long mane slashing at his face. No, It must be something going on... poor fellow, thought. He looked over to the herd, but just stood there, althought he felt like he should do something. But what? he thought to himself as he looked back to the injured horse.

it was not right for him to have dont that to me, even if i was a young stud. "i would not go there if i were you, he is in that mood again." i say limping past the other horse. no one was with me now, and i had no where to go. with luck i would last the night, but the wolves would not let me live that long, no i had to fight the lead stallion to make him the lowest. i turn back to the herd and stand tall. this was my way to live, and i was going to take my chance. i charge the stallion, hitting him with my shoulder. he stumbles but does not fall. I had to win or i was going to die out there on my own, he at least would stand a chance. i rare up kicking him with my front feet. He was much stronger than i, and not to say in better shape too. he bites at me, trying to get the upper hand, but i kick at his face. the lead mares stand back, they knew who was going to win. i was losing strength. with one last burst, i kick at the stallion with my back feet. there is a deafening crack as my hoof connects with the stallion's face. he crumbles to the ground, dead at my feet.

He stood, almost petrafied, as he saw the stallion tumble down, dead at the colt's (?) back feet.
I see... Do they do what Mygraw does? He always said that life in a herd was a hard one, and you had to ehtire prove you could live through the hardships, or die trying. He looked at the colt once more, and knew the question he wanted to ask him.

"i-i am sorry..." i say looking at the dead stallion. all the mares look at me in shock. i was not a leader! i just did not want to die! i wanted to yell to them but did not. i snort. i was their leader. "Now i want everyone to go back to what they were doing please." i want to be the best leader, but knew that there was no such thing. i would not be able to withstand another fight with out dying so i had to make the most of this chance. i stand atop my hill. This was my place now this was my home.

He saw he had a good time to ask, and came up to him.
"Um, excuse me. I'm sorry, but, as you can see, I use to live with humans," He turned to his side to show all the whip marks he got, "But, luckly, I ecaped. I would like to join your herd." He stood proud and tall, trying to show he would make a good extension to the herd.

i look to the new horse. "you seem like a good guy. my only rule is that you cant breed any of my mares, but you can find some of your own within the herd if you would like." i say. my leg was killing me. the bleeding had stopped, mostly but the wound still showed. it was going to scar, but i guess that was ok.

He dipped his head. "Yes, um... sir. Thank you." He trotted away to the herd, his tail and mane flowing in the wind.
That went really great! I will not let you down! He trotted faster, but not fast enough to where it seemed like he was trying to esape.

Mysti walked up to the new lead stallion. "For an unexperienced colt you fought well. Father never cared enough to learn and use names, not even his own, but I am more curious than the other mares and fillies. I would know your name if you would give it."
