Sometimes I wright someone something in the forums, and I notice I forgot to Ping. Then I have to write a whole new post to ping them and explain that I forgot to ping them. That's getting really tedious, so pretty please fix that? Thanks.

I total love this idea! And when you edit you can reping the people to tell them it was edited! I would REALLY like this!!!!

I'm pretty sure you can edit your original post to do this... let me try here, lol

If you get the ping, it worked, lol

So apparently that doesn't work, lol...

So I would propose that if you use the @ with a users name in the body of the post, it does the ping the same, either when you write it the first time or edit.

And yeah, it would be nice if you had the option of the ping bar for edits too.

I'm thinking the reason it is set up that way is so that you don't have to worry about re-pinging people if the post is edited.. or people pinging a bunch of people to their sale thread and then edit it and say "I didn't ping you, the site must be broken!"

The coding would have to be completely re-done to know who was originally pinged and who was pinged in an edit.. and then ping the new names but not the old one.. seems like it would cause issues and lots of extra info running to slow down the forums.
