I've only been here a short time and I'm not sure if it's been suggested before, but here's my two cents:

Gold: As a starting user I found that just the tutorial is making you SPEND quite a bunch of gold so gaining gold is a pretty big thing. I've found however especially when you just start that gold is not that easy to come by. For one there is only one game by which we can earn gold and more often than not it ends up taking more gold than it dishes out and I've already noticed there's a serious twitch in there where it will land on 3 diamonds and then up and have the last wheel which had STOPPED moving suddenly jump to a different picture. Very annoying that twitch because it gives me as a new user the feeling that the wheel is rigged to never land on 3 the same unless it's the black clad guy. So yeah more games by which to earn gold in the poorly named games tab(can hardly call it that with only 1 game in it) would be nice and maybe like with gaia online a system where small amounts of gold can be earned by being active in the forum?

Pricing: As I already saw a thread on this I won't say much on this. The pricing to me is okay, but it'd be nice if better capture nets were available to people without access to RL money. I'd complain about the rate at which diamonds go in the exchange, but I have seen decent prices and there will always be those who think they can ask a million gold for their 10 diamonds and expect to get it too. I will point out to the comment in that thread on pricing I saw a bit on stable purchase that made me pretty sad. Once my stable is full I won't be able to get a new one as you maintain to only make it available for RL money and I am one of many people who don't have the luxury of freely spending that money on just anything. It'd be nice if the stables could be made available for say 100 000 to 500 000 gold a stable at some point So one would be able to purchase them even if one doesn't have RL money to spend. You'll probably argue that diamonds can be gained through broker, but well at the rate its being exchanged I'll likely need over 5 million gold before I have enough money to buy another stable (estimate since I don't know yet what another stable will cost in diamonds)

Avatar clothes: I for one find the lack of a Gold shop for avatar clothes a bit of a let down. I have a super cute avatar and needed to wait for the easter event to get him cute clothes as I don't have diamonds at my disposal. So my suggestion is a shop where you can buy for say 5000-10 000 gold standard items for your avatar. Like a standard pair of pants and shirts and held items to make it cuter. Nothing really fancy, but just something cute for the beginning user to enjoy as they wait for the chance to get diamonds or enter events that give out avatar items. People like to costumize their avatar and it rather bugged me that until I went on a quest I had only a standard outfit my avatar came with. Would be nice to see a shop where you can buy like different colored standard pants and shirts and held items for gold.

Forum: The first thing I notice here is that you can't really keep track easily of the threads you posted in, a subscribe to this thread function would be a good idea. It will allow users to keep track of the many things they post in and easily see if there are new posts in their thread. I personally find it highly annoying that I have to hunt down where the thread is I had posted in and as I am unfortunate to have memory issues I don't always am able to remember the name of the thread and have to click through threads for hours to find them again. Being able to on my profile see a list of threads I subscribed to allows me to easily find the thread as I'd just have to click its name in that list rather than hunt down the thread through (insert random number) of pages with threads to find a thread I posted in.

So these are the points I found that I felt could be improved on. I'd like to ask people not to start an argument over it as that won't help the site staff or yourself. It's about improving the site not deciding who is right or wrong. As this is for site improvement I'd appreciate it if only the staff could post here as I really want their opinion and not that of other members. I understand that you all mean well, but I really want to know the staff's opinion on this and not have to go through 4 pages of posts before finding those. I honestly don't mean to be mean or rude, but this is just how I'm used to the bug and suggestion portion of a site work.

Yes I saw your "no members post here" comment, but I'm commenting anyway. This is not to start an argument, but to respond to your suggestions and give you a little information without Krin or Fai having to explain things again.

First, you have to understand that Sylestia, as amazing and well-coded as it is with a decent size user base, is still only three months old (going on four). As you advance through the game, you will be able to accumulate more gold, but it works like a ladder. You get very little at first, but as you work forward in the game, you can make more. With only two regions currently available (out of ten), it's also difficult for the rest of us who have nothing else to do. to further the game itself. I'll let Krin say his piece on the Jamboree, though. There IS, however, going to be more games in the future. Again, the site is only three months old. With coding and working out bugs and trying to make sure the site runs smoothly for all the new people joining, Krin just hasn't had the time to introduce more new ones yet. Just be patient.

Second, it's been stated that the second stable will always cost 500 Diamonds. It's pricey, but it's also a reward for sticking around. Don't forget, you can sell special holiday items, too. (I just sold a pair of the Easter Bunny Wings for 500 Diamonds, which happens to be what the stable costs.)

Krin and Fai are working on getting more features for the avatars as well. I won't say whether or not there will be a gold shop for clothes, but I do know the bulk of our wearables can be obtained from mob drops (or buying them on the broker).

Krin is already working on something for the forum issue as favoriting/bookmarking/however you wanna call it has been a big things people have been asking for since the beginning. So yes. That's also already in the works.

So yeah. Pretty much most of those are already being worked on, or have been decided will not change. Basically questions that have already been answered (save for the problem you have with the Jamboree, which I will leave for Krin to respond to).

Why do I bother begging you people not to post? You just ignore it anyway....

Because most of these questions/suggestions have already been discussed and/or answered. :3

Why would our advice be considered worth less than the admins? they would only tell you the same things we are telling you.

@Nataku,

As I said in your Bug Report post, a great aspect of Sylestia is its community. The Suggestion Box is meant to be an open discussion on ideas. We will never, ever, implement new features based solely on one person. We want the community's feedback on suggestions. That's why this Forum is here. Otherwise, we'd just have a PM system for suggestions.

Also on that topic, if you want only an admin response, then I suggest PM'ing either myself or Faiona or sending an email to our support.

Our Forums are public for a reason. We want the community to share their opinions.

Everything Shadow said is correct.

For Jinxie's Jamboree, it is coded that way to add suspense. Sometimes your last reel is one off, but then ticks into a win. Sometimes it's a win, and ticks into a loss. It's to add suspense and excitement to the game.

Our slot machine game also is not like actual slot machine games. Ours is not programmed one way or another. There are x amount of slots on each reel and it literally randomly picks a slot on each of the 3 reels. No manipulation at all. The suspense part is just some javascript to spice it up some.

Jinxie's Jamboree is also coded so you win over time. The odds are in your favor. If you play for a few hours, you will win Gold and some items as well.

As far as Gold, Gold is meant to be hard to earn at the beginning. If it were easy, there'd be less incentive to progress through the game. I don't know of any game that I've ever played where it rains Gold at Level 1. You're supposed to want to progress to open more doors. That's where the excitement of progression comes from.

As far as the Stables, we have some users who have many Stables already without purchasing Diamonds. They simply have farmed Gold and buy Diamonds through the Exchange. So it is very possible to do that.

And for Avatar items, the vast majority of them can be obtained in game. Not so much in Viridian Meadows, but lots can be found in Umbra Forest and the Sanctuary of Saerielle. We will of course add more as the game progresses.

Okay I played the jamboree for more than an hour last time and lost all of my 3000 gold and won 2 or 3 gold from the lanterns. Playing longer did not in fact make it worth while to me. It just made it worth less and I got nothing out of it because the twitch made my good score go bad more than it made my bad score get better...

As for the avatar thing I can't get to that sanctuary because I'm stuck with a level 15 bandit that kicks my level 23 pet's******no matter what I equip her with. I'm thinking I'll be having to get her to level 50 before I get past him because no matter what I equip even at 8 levels higher than the bandit she doesn't even dent his health nor does my level 20 pet regardless of equipment nor do they together.

I'm curious how you even grade damage because it sure doesn't help to be higher in level like in normal rpg type games.

@Nataku,

Cereth should be beatable with Level 15 pets.

First thing, have you expanded your party to have 2 Party Slots? That will make a massive difference. It sounds like you're just battling with 1 pet still.

You can expand your party in the Sylesti Plaza of Esior's Haven.

Xelfi also has 8 unspent Level Ups. Spending Level Ups and Proficiency Points will greatly increase a pet's power.

Another thing I noticed is that Xelfi is in all Uncommon gear. You should browse the Trade Broker for some Rare or Epic upgrades.

If earning Gold is a problem, you can farm Trollsblight Caverns or send pets on Missions. You have quite a few pets, so you should be sending them on Missions as often as you can. Missions are a great way to earn Gold, Experience, Equipment, and Consumables.

You can also sell some Spring Festival items for lots of Gold. You can easily earn these through Spring Surprises.

Stats do increase when pets gain levels, but the real bonuses comes from Level Up Points, Proficiencies, and access to better Equipment.

Lastly, you have played Jinxie's Jamboree 72 times. At 5 gold per bet, you have spent 360g on spins.

You have won 393g from spins alone, that does not include what you have won from Bonus Games. So you have netted at least 33g from playing Jinxie's Jamboree (Plus whatever you've won from the Bonus Games).

----

Faiona has also sent you some equipment which should help in getting past Cereth.

I saw the trades so firstly Thank you Fiona.

I've been using 2 pets since getting a second slot.

Xelfi and Wufei

Missions: Wufei is a big problem here he just won't succeed in his level 10 mission so he's not leveling up much. I'm being tutored by someone from the site on Proficiency things.

Xelfi was level 18 and Wufei level 16 on my first try. Neither even made a dent and both died with 2 attack from the guy and his two lackeys.

I asked a friend for tips and they told me to get what's currently attached to my pets for better work and I proceeded to use rpg logic and level up.

When Xelfi was 21 and Wufei 19 I tried again with the current equipment and some added level up extra's and lasted even shorter than the try before.

My last try yesterday lasted longer, but I still only managed to dent their health by like 7ish percent and died taking only one lackey down X_x

Another tip for the avatars if at all possible? Can we get a function where we can chose between the man's or woman's version? I need to make my avatar a boy just because all the girl avatar clothes I've seen so far (NOT SEEN ALL!!!!) seem to only have a skirt for the girls. It'd be nice if it were possible to decide on the clothes without having to switch genders just to get the one I like. Some of us are tomboys and want pants on our avatar girls X3

The most awesome would be if like you could buy the shirt and pants like separate if you wanna combine em.

Have like you got now the combined outfit for like say 500 diamonds
And then have separate parts of the outfits available:

pants for like 200 or so diamonds
Shirts for like 200 diamonds
shoes for like 100 diamonds

Just an example but in the end you can then combine different parts of the outfits and still have the full outfit cost the same as it now costs and available for those who want the complete set for sales purposes.

A tip for the future X3 It'd be so awesome if I could combine the pirate's top with the spiderweb paterned pants X3
By the way kudos for making the clothes so you can just adjust the color to your liking without paying extra. That was something I hated about gaiaonline having to buy 12 of the same shirt just to be able to switch colors once in a while. Your system is totally way much better X3
Anywho yeah that's something that hit me just now when I realized I had my avatar on boy setting and changed it to girl only to find her pants becoming a skirt.
