So, I have just created two ryori with mythical essences, however I am very attached to this design coloring and such and am wondering if it would be in poor taste to release so others don't have the exact same coloring. Or not. I know Mythical generated pets are rather wanted but I'd prefer not to have a bunch of ryori like my own running around as I havent seen any looking like this design yet.

Quite simply, they're your pets and you can do whatever you wish to do with them. We have been trying to stress this point for awhile now. We don't want Sylestia to be a place where players can't feel comfortable managing their pets in their own way.

That being said, released pets can still be searched for via the advanced search. Additionally, if they have offspring, players can just look at the parents and find them (or the offspring's themselves for the colors/traits).

Hope this helps. =P

Thank you, and it does set my mind at rest a small amount. However I hate to just throw away something people may want. I'm just wondering if it is even really a worry that my pets doppelganger will show up too soon. (I know I can't have the only one forever, but still)

I personally wouldn't worry. It's your pet and if you like it, you should most definitely keep it. You can't control what other players do, so there's really no reason to worry about it.

If someone creates a clone, then so be it. You'll still have yours and yours still came first. And because of just how the game functions, you most likely probably wouldn't even realize it existed unless you specifically sought out to find clones of your pets. And even then, they will just be sitting in someone else's Stable. It's not like they can steal your pet's identity.

Just my opinion, though. =)

Like Krin said, I wouldn't worry. =)

I release pets all the time, partially due to space limit, partially due to not wanting others to have a pet that's similar to mine so easily. Lots of users who have breeding projects do this. You don't really want others to easily accomplish the same/similar result that you spent months doing, but they do in weeks just by buying your pets.

And like Krin said, if they really want the pet you've released, there are ways to get that. They could get the essence to make the pet, or find a pet with similar traits and dye them.

Ultimately, they're your pets, so it's up to you to decide what you want to do with them. =)
