Ok, I am sure someone has already posted about this, but I couldn't find it in the last five pages. I also saw that something like this is part of what is in the line for development eventually... but I just wanted to say we NEED this. I did some horse trading of ingredients and such in this last festival, and i gotta say, not that I don't trust people, but the current system is way too easy to scam. It's basically on the honor system people will pass what they say they will, and thankfully the majority of people on this site are trustworthy. But, it would be so much nicer if we had an actual trading post where we could securely post what we have for trade, and get multiple offers to look over and take the one we want.
I personally like the one that Neopets used when I played that many years ago- you could offer anything from gold to items or both, with the items being traded shown, not just listed. It was very user friendly and easy to navigate to just browse, or search for what you want. For Sylestia, I would hope that diamonds would also be tradeable this way, either for items or whatever, since they are such an important part of the economy here.
So, if there was some kind of trading post, what features would you like to see? In the interest of brain storming, of course.

I think this sounds like an awesome idea. Plus, I think being able to post what you're offering and ask for something specific in exchange, then if someone agrees with that trade, they accept it and the items automatically trade.
In case that wasn't clear, it would go something like this:
AaronAmpora is offering Philter of Gender Swapping x1 for Philter of Amnesia x1 [Accept]
Then you click the accept button and bam, the items trade.

That's pretty much exactly it. On several of the sites I have played, you can get multiple offers for something desirable, and then you can pick and choose which offer you accept. Sometimes what is offered on a trade is pretty silly (something worth one gold for an item worth millions) but generally this way you can get lots of different offers of all kinds of different things for what you want to trade. I would love to see this feature somehow implemented.

Also, I think it would be cool to have that system just to make all other trades more trustworthy. I haven't truly been scammed but I worry that as the site grows, more people might try to scam. I think it would be awesome to be able to set this up for pets as well. Like in posts where you take offers on a Tagged pet and someone offers multiple items and diamonds, you could set up the pet for whatever the offer was in trade.
And btw, sorry if I wasn't supposed to ping!

I like this kinda system. o:
Gaia Online also has such a trade system. It had its own dedicated page, with your inventory open so you can pick stuff to add to your side of the trade, and then send to a person to validate and see what they're offering. You can either 'accept' or 'decline' or 'reoffer' in those trades, if anything. o: It was a bit round-about though.
I'm sure everyone is just looking for a one-for-one system for now. And it would be cool if it worked with all sorts of things to trade, including pets, currencies (how I'd love to trade gold/diamonds/AP/scales LOL), and the usual items.

I don't mind you pinging me, as long as you don't mind me doing it back ;)
And yes! It definitely needs to include pets, and for exactly the reason you state. I've seen people offer a combination of gold AND diamonds AND items on some of the more desirable, rarer pets. It would be nice to be able to both post a trade and offer on one with multiple items and/or currency for trade.
And i know exactly what you mean about the current system (or lack there-of) being kinda dicey. I recently traded a bunch of bakery ingredients for a pet. Now I knew they had the pet I wanted, because i could search for it. But they had to trust that I not only had the items I said I did to trade with, but that after I got the pet I would send them. Luckily there don't seem to be too many dishonest people playing the game yet, but the way things are right now there is no real good way to make trades securely. And trading pets or anything else for diamonds? Eek, that's kinda scary...
I played Gaia briefly, but I don't really remember it's trading system all that well. Re-offer? That sounds like an interesting feature... on Neopets and Marapets, you could only accept or reject. On other sites I have seen you could only accept an offer, or take down the offer if you didn't want to accept any. Any of the above i think would be better than how it works now.
I'm just really thankful Krin and Fai are as good at administering the site as they are and have managed to keep scamming to a minimum so far.

This sounds like a good idea! I especially like the multiple offers suggestion. I don't often have something that multiple want, though. I managed to get an epic Vulnyx spice and two people were interested. That was almost too much for me. XD
I'm glad that Sylestia doesn't have scammers. Everyone on here is so nice and lenient. Very willing to help out. I don't want to see the day that I see threads like, "Don't trade with ____ they're a scammer!"
