This is a literate wolf pack RPG.

No sign ups are required.

The plot is created as we go along.

Literate is pretty much 3 or more sentences per post.

You can jump in and jump out as you like.

Be nice, dont kill another person's wolf with out permission.

Sheer Moon is alpha female of the pack, so her word is law.

And now that all that is done, let us start!

Sheer Moon silently padded through the forest as her black nose twitched. She reached her destination and quietly sat as she looked at the moon. She thought to herself *Why did you have to leave me, my love? I know you are no longer in pain and are bounding through the stars with the lost ones of our pack, but my heart breaks more each day that you are gone...* When she finished her train of thought, she stood, tipped her head back, and let out a long heart wrenching song of grief and loss. It spread through the entire forest, startling herd of caribou, causing large flocks of bird to take flight, and for many a wolf ear to prick at the sound of a heart broken wolf.

Viper, an ash grey male with white speckles, was hunting a pack of caribou when suddenly he heard the low cry of his Luna, Sheer Moon. He was just the pack beta, but he knew a regular "come back" howl was very different from his Luna's "broken heart" howl. Because he was deep in thought, he didn't notice that the herd of Caribou was stampeding straight towards him. He quickly tried to scamper up the nearest tree, but to no avail. Usually he could climb them but this particular tree was too large. So instead of running away from the herd, he ran off to the side, hoping he could get back to camp without getting trampled. Something was troubling his Luna, and he needed to find out.

Loki walked silently thought the woods, his mind set to dwell on the absent minded obese that was his mind. 'How had I managed to let a whole pack die?' The song, for that was what he had called it for o'so many years, welled up in his throat ready to burst out and into the air but someone far off beat him to it. He stops and listens. What a beautiful song that was although it was full of sorrow and pain. He thought for a moment then walks or limps in the direction of the song. 'Lord why did we have to take on the stupid bear, knowing we would all die?' He looks down at his foot. Although it was no longer bleeding it still looked bad, swollen yet not broken.

The howl had reached Ragnar's ears as he treaded through the forest. His ears dropped in sadness as he could practically feel her pain. He knew a howl of loneliness when he heard it. He had once ushered many himself when he was young, but had since decided it was only a waste of breath. But for this one time he joined in. He howled together mixing his sadness with that of the she-wolf wherever she may be. It was the first he had howled in a long time and it was mixed with many emotions and turmoil. He stopped even before she had finished her beautiful...sad song. A wolf like him knew loneliness, but this poor wolf he could tell was much deeper than just being lonely. Wolves were not made to be alone, a story once told of the wolves gift of packs and family given to them by those in the moon. A wolf was not meant to be alone, not like he. He sighed as he trudged through the brush of the forest, his head hung low, and his ears drawn back. His tail dragged the ground sweeping back and forth every once and a while to brush off a leaf that had caught on to his tail. He hoped there were not others like him. He had learned to survive but it felt empty and without reason if there was noone else. He believed the stories were very much true. A wolf was not meant to be alone. Only the forsaken and outcast were left to such a fate.

Sheer Moon finally stopped howling. She panted slightly, catching her breath. She stared up at the moon, many tears streaming down her face. After a while, she tipped her head back and howled. This time she sang of the happy times she and her mate had shared. She sang of her love for him and the love their pack held for the both of them. She sand of the unborn pups she carried within her. who would never meet their father.

he tipped back his head, howling. but this time he howled with the happy melody that Sheer Moon had set. he knew of the pain she was feeling, he had once experienced it too. his mate had three healthy pups. but two of them died in the winter cold. the other pup felt resentment towards his parents, believing that they had let his two sisters die. when he was old enough, he left Viper and his mate and they never saw him again. but he didn't howl about that. he howled for his beautiful mate, and all of the time that they spent together huddled in their den, braving the spring rain. he howled for his pup, hoping that he was alive and well with his own mate. but he stopped howling. his pup was believed to be dead. and his mate was sick and weak. she might not make it another 2 moons. but he had to believe that she was going to live, for her sake. he had to make her well.

Unlike the last, Ragnar did not join in on this howl. Happiness was not a feeling he knew. Unlike them he had never had such memories in his life, he had never come to feel that which was known as happyness. He had been alone since birth barely surviving day to day. He had always been treated with malice from the humans afar to other wolves. He was glad that those howling had experienced such happiness in their lives, something worth living for.

Loki had some happy times in his life but none worth the breath to share. No instead he joined their happy song with his own if pain and hard times ones that not even his pack knew of. As his song comes to a sad end with his pack slowly bleeding out into the cold heartless earth, he himself becomes weak. He sends a call for help out at the end of his song.

A female wolf trudged through the area, her long white hair showing she wasn't quite from these lands. She had come a long way from where she had once called home in search of a new beginning. She listened in on the songs of the other wolves. Their howls told many a sad story, ones she didn't feel like hearing much of. She felt like she had enough of her own problems recently. She had lost her voice and she couldn't seem to find it again. She had wondered if she would ever be able to sing with the other wolves ever again.
