this is just a idea to make this a bit better,
I was playing around in the wardrobe, and noticed that the new whip goes in front of the shadow wolf, I think that maybe the wolf should go in front of the whip, like maybe the neck curls around like it does normally, but in front of the whip.
See it?:

ok, bumping this up, just wanted to add that this would
work for all clothes that go in front of it, its kind of annoying for some wings

While I understand why you're making this suggestion, I honestly don't think that there's much that can be done about it. But I know next to nothing about programming, so I could be wrong.

From my understanding of the avatar image, wings are the last layer of the image. on top of that is the back, then the avatar base, then the outfit, then the head, then the held.

So if there any overlaps between the layers, the layer on top will cover the layer(s) below it. So all helds will cover the outfit, back and wings if there are any overlaps, and the wings will always be covered by the helds, wings, back and outfit if there are any overlaps.

It would probably be very complicated (if at all possible) to code the image such as one part of a layer will be above some layers, and another part of the same layer be below the other said layers.
The only way I know around that is to have a "cut out" of the image. So like say part of the whip is to go behind the wolf, the image has to be drawn as the whip, minus the area where the wolf is. Which means, without the wolf, you're going to have a whip in two parts that are not connected.
The problem with this is that this requires multiple drawings of one item since different back/outfit/wing items are different in shape, size and what we feel should come in front of other layers. So this would be a lot more work for the artists, and also for the system, as the system has to know to match which version of the item with other versions of other items. And would create more problems when newer items are created after as the overlaps are different again.

I could be wrong, since i know next to nothing about programming, but from what i understand of how images work here, I don't think your suggestion would be workable, or if it is, it'll create way too much extra work than is worth. Just my thoughts.

(This overlap is the main reason why I don't use wings on my avatar. The secondary reason is that I don't fancy most of the wings =P )
