hullo everyone! i'm nordic, i joined about 10 days ago and decided to do an a little intro post now that i've gotten the gist of the site.
to start;; i was introduced to the site through people i know on mweor (or more appropriately the mweor tag on tumblr). i don't recall who's post it was that got me to join but i did and here i am.
you may notice;; i don't really capitalize anything unless it's names or if i am being professional. this is just the way i type when i'm not doing something important. it's also a bit faster for me. :) if it bothers you, i'm sorry but i won't be changing this habit anytime soon.
getting to know me;;
- i'm a 21 yr old female and avid Packers fan. i'm also an aunt of four wild children (all under 10 yrs), i usually go from coloring book pages to playing with foam swords when they're around. i know, it's a talent. :P as a result i'm very friendly!
- since i learned about this site from mweor, i obviously have an account there. i'm nordic (#46544). also, since i was convinced to join from the tumblr tag, i also have a tumblr. nordicactual has become my pet sim blog. if you want my main, you'll have to pm me.
- i really enjoy video games. mass effect, halo, borderlands, skyrim, and the ilk primarily (all on xbox). i also play minecraft on the pc.
- i spent 3 yrs in college for art but disliked it greatly. i now draw, design, and draft on my own time and inspiration. i don't regret it, but i know for a fact the skills i learned there could have come much cheaper. i do draw with my wacom tablet often, although if i do anything related to sylestia it will be a while.
- i roleplay, on tumblr and rarely on mweor. i am picky, and honestly have the best time with rps based off the video games i play. if any one's interested, feel free to pm me.
- i actually do not have wi-fi at home, so my time spent online is usually what i can borrow from the local public sources. this also means i keep strange hours, as well as sporadic activity.
- i love Firefly. Any other browncoats about?
my sylesti's so far;; since this is an introduction post, i'll introduce my lovelies as well.

any questions or advice for me?

aww don't talk like that, yours are really coming along. :) Besides, gestures took 3 minutes, 'short' poses were 30 minutes, and the long poses took the time of the class (3 hours). our model would fall asleep in those poses. lol we were also assigned a small skeleton mannequin that we built muscle structures on with clay. those pictures are on my flickr account, here.
it was difficult, but it really helped.

Woah. I don't know what school you go to, but that is hecka cool. My college life drawing class just had us draw from models with direction from our professor.

Life Drawing didn't work me hard like yours, but 2D Design was a doozy (none of my art from that class is on my DA or blog, because they're all a bit too large to scan). Those are the only art classes I have completed; however I am currently taking an Introduction to Printmaking class. For the most part I am self taught, but I plan to get my Masters in fine art. So far I am halfway through my Bachelors (not in fine art, but digital design), I've taken a lot of multimedia classes instead and dang HTML/CSS takes longer than you would think at 3 AM. XD
What classes have you taken? owo

I was going for a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Multimedia Design (which is now called Entertainment Design and has separate fields of study, including a recent addition of comics/animation). my very art centered, i had to take two/three studio classes a semester and was there for 2.5 years. I've taken Drawing I, Drawing II, Life Drawing, Painting I, 2D Design, 3D Design, Design Concepts and Problems, 2D Digital Imaging, Graphic Design I, and Design Drawing.
and after that list i realize why i left... 0.0 i'm never going to be an 'artist' and i'm really happy to be able to say that and not be upset by it. :)
