Is there any sort of way I could like, transfer crystals to someone without using the exchange thing? Or if it is possible, is there any sort of private exchange I could do?

the person receiving the diamonds sets up a trade in the exchange. The select sell gold:
then price 1 gold coin with the number of diamonds.
Then the person spending/selling the diamonds buys that option.
This is the only way to do a diamond exchange safely.
