easy... u spend countless days and months getting ur perfect pet and u get it to max level.... what now??? it can't get any stronger and having a new child from it doesn't guarantee that it will be the exact same pet u love so much...

with a reborn u take that maxed level pet and instead of breeding it u bring it back to level 1 and use a philter on it,,, to make it balanced reborn takes much longer than hatching an egg.... for exaple it could take 2 week to reborn, if u don't want to wait 2 weeks then breed it... ull get ur stat boost sooner but u will take the risk of having totally different looks

theres two thing u do by breeding

one is to get new pets with new genes and mutations, the other things its to get higher base stats....
but when i get the mutations and genes i want on a pet and i also want to increase it's base stats i cant use more philters until i breed more new pets, but breeding more pets can change its appearance

I understand where you're coming from, because most MMOs operate with a rebirth system lol.
But that's because you only have ONE character. Sylestia's different, mainly because it relies on the advancement of generations, not the advancement of an individual pet.

And lvl60 isn't even the max level. It's just the capped level because the game isn't finished.
Once the game is finished, the true max is 250.

While I guess this has some merit, I think it goes against some of the mechanics set in place, partly the reason for the breeding feature. If you want a better pet, breed one, that's how these games work, I presume. Because they're virtual pet games, not RPGs where you control one static character. You control pets that can have offspring, which can have offspring, and that's your development.

Is your main reason why you think a rebirth system is a good suggestion because you can't use philters on an already-born pet?
(Other than "sentimentality" from your first post)

This system has potential, but it isn't exactly the right system for a breeding pet game.

I suppose this can be implemented in some weird way, and it could cost diamonds. Maybe as a potion in the cash shop for 750-1000 diamonds to add bonuses onto pets. (or philter-type bonuses like a measly 20+ into one stat for like 50 diamonds)
But this would cause some setbacks for certain pets, such as generated pets which aren't supposed to have any more traits than what they were generated with, or pets who already have stat caps (there are people who have already done that by breeding).

Still standing by my statement that rebirth systems aren't for a game where breeding is rewarding. Maybe it can be an option, because I do like making pets that I already own more useful, but still out of place, compared to an MMORPG that has limited ways to develop a character in one go.

didnt knew there was a cap for stats,, anyways, it's difficult enough to get a pet how u want it to look only for it to become weaker compared to future generations when it takes almost a month for a pet to become an adult.

But i also see your point somewhat, this is not meant to be a full rpg, so i should forget about having a perfectly looking pet......... weirdly enough i should think about pets as real children >_<
after all my children are the most beautiful to me with good base stats or not lol

This will more or less be achievable much later in game when we finally have our actual max level set.

Once a pet reaches the ultimate max level, it will have the opportunity to continue leveling to increase other things, such as its base stats.

This system is obviously far from being implemented, but it is something we've already put thought into.
