A new update came out with the stables not to long ago and the mass move button was made for stables.
My proposal is a mass release button for hatchery, we all have duds for breeding projects or pets that we randomly bred out of curiosity or in worse cases boredom! yes I said it the bad word of sylestia bored. we have all been there waiting for projects to hatch, wheel offspring to hatch, missions to be finished, had finished all the daily quest and what do you do? go to the breeding ground of course! and start breeding and test breeding to your hearts content right ? Well you now have hundreds of babies and no where to put them right ? And like me you don't like naming pets you want to keep because the possibility of a good sell in the future and waiting around 30 days until the unnamed pets are automatically released all the while you're hatchery is still pushing 50-60+ tabs ! and releasing pets your self takes an hour or more. so I believe the mass release button would do sylestia some good. Also keeping the number down of common pets some of which species are over 3000! which in turn may help some players with selling pets aka more gold for you !
this would take away from hatchery having limited space and not having to buy hatchery tabs
so in recap
a hatchery release button would promote (in random order)

.faster release of unwanted pets
.a lesser number of common pets
. common pets able to be sold for more then 1 coin = more gold for players
. less tabs meaning less time searching for pets
etc.

Support.

I agree on point 1 both from hatchery and stables.
Mass release preferably to be akin to the mass move button.

I have no idea what you mean on point 2

3: 1. any species of pet has been sold for 1 coin. 2. the new scale shop is supposed to introduce a pet buying NPC as well. I doubt hatchery release buttons would fix this issue though. It's about users not wanting to release pets, not about releasing being a pain

last point: No. The tabs are useful and it only applies to people who are too lazy to release. I don't think this is really a valid concern as releasing an unnamed pet isn't all that much effort, especially with copy paste or auto fill in effect. It is a convenience problem of course an can be annoying for lots of pets. I just release along with the hatching process most days so I too would appreciate an easier way to release though.

Edited.

I know what you mean, but I still think tabs are a peripheral issue here. The solution might in part be moving pets you'd like to keep on to stables as soon as possible.

isn't moving pets in hatchery in the near future? I still think moving pets would be a good idea also
I updated the post because i know i don't want to end up buying tabs in the hatchery where it would be easier just to release all the excess

I'll probably end up buying tabs for sale pets, but as I said I usually decide upon hatching what to do with the pet and release immediately if I'm not keeping it.

Now that I think about it.... auto testing eggs if you have an unlimited test kit would be useful.

Zarhail, I think on the last point, Arux means 'tabs' in the hatchery, which we don't buy (at least, not yet). Some people have a huge number of pages in their hatchery which makes finding anything very difficult because all the babies move around when anything gets released or moved to the stables.

In general:

I'm kind of on the fence about this suggestion. On the one hand, it could be very useful, on the other hand it could be difficult to implement due to the current structure of the hatchery. I think it would be best to wait until the new hatchery and scale shop are released before implementing this, since the changes may make it unnecessary in the long run.

I can't say for everyone else, but I can say I probably won't use it much because it is much, much easier to accidentally release pets.

And I usually release them most after testing, which is when I get to see what the genes are.

Then again, while I do mass breed I never use the autorelease setting or have reached 50 pages of the hatchery...

but wouldn't being able to move pets in the hatchery prevent that being able to put pets you want to keep in one area and pets you don't in another
