I remember seeing a post somewhere asking for the option of sending pets from the hatchery that are 'on sale' to be released so they don't go to the stabled when they become adults.

I would rather prefer that there be a checkbox or dropbox that allows you to set the pets you don't mind being released over other pets (eg in the manage pet section); and further being able to see an indication that you chose this option on the general hatchery page (eg. like an icon similar to the [S] that indicates the pet is up for sale, have some thing like [R] to be released.

I mention this because I like the idea of pets that are for sale are released because I have no interest in keeping them, but then there are some I would like to keep up for sale and not be release.

I also like this option because it means less micromanaging on the releasing of mass amounts of unwanted pets from the hatchery.

Edit: Possibly consider being able to control which stable/tab you initially put your adolescents in; so they don't just show up randomly in the 'first' slot available. Would help great with sorting.

Hope this made sense to everyone. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

This would a bit complicated to implement. Basically, it sounds like you're wanting an automatic system to release pets that you don't want, but want more than other pets that you want released first?

At this time, every hour on the hour, the Site goes through and parses hundreds of thousands of pets. It checks their age and if they are too old, moves them from the Hatchery -> Stable or releases them. It's already a pretty hefty process. As time goes on, the process will only become more hefty as more and more pets are in the game.

I think there's a certain point where a player should be responsible for their pets more than the server is, and I think this is an example of that. You have to remember that these are your pets and yours to take care of. This includes feeding them, selling them, or releasing them. I feel like we already have a pretty good system in place for keeping pets or automatically releasing them.

For example, to accomplish what you described, you could just name the pets for sale that you want to keep and keep the rest as "Un-named". Then toggle on the option to automatically release "Un-named" pets.

If the naming is problematic, it won't be for long as in the near future we will be making it much easier to rename pets.

All in all though, I think adding a feature like this would be too complicated and crosses the point of having the Site play the game for you.

And I hope this doesn't sound too negative, I really don't mean it to be lol. Just trying to explain our point of view. =P
