In Azalea, a land made of a forest, strange and wonderful Sylesti roam free hunting, fighting, surviving. The humans came along and destroyed some of the forest to build a large town, it flourished as they built docks and and grew crops and the town grew, the Sylesti hated the humans for destroying their beautiful forest and enemies became friends as the Sylesti were hunted. One day fed up with it all the Sylesti's gather to a cave that was hidden the thickest, darkest part of the forest. They circled the Crystal of light which had kept the land clear and safe for many years, the Sylesti's started to sing a silent song that no human could hear. "Great light crystal hear us! The humans have taken our homes! Tonight, if we cannot live in peace then the humans cannot either! We shall place a curse over the land, the land shall become dark, all Sylesti's corrupted until the humans can show us kindness! Great Light Crystal! We lay the curse upon you!" The song finished and the Light Crystal stopped glowing, it seemed to turn to stone, becoming dull, all of its light gone then, a boom shook the land as a ring of darkness flew out from the stone hitting the Sylesti's gathered around the stone they turned dark, the ring spread out from the cave covering the land, turning it dark, the Sylesti's flew, and ran away laughing silently.

A few years later

"A corrupt guardian is guarding the newly named Dark Crystal, she is known as the Shadow Queen or the Black Lady, she has taken the stone deep in her lair and a fierce black and red Ny'vene now guards it giving it extra protection. Anyone who attempts to rescue the stone has been warned." Lyra finished reading the news paper and sighed. Everything is guarded by the fierce sylesti's these days and no one knows why. Cursing silently Lyra went on her way.
