((When I use these double parenthesis, that will be my "out of character" comments/questions etc. :3 I hope this start works well for you!))
RP w/ Talyn-

Harsh winds scorched his cheeks as his fingers struggled to grip the edge of the cliff. The young man let out a sound of frustration when his foot-hold was lost beneath him and his leg dangled for a moment. After he steadied his grip, he kicked a new spot to hook his boot into. It fit snugly, so he grinned and continued picking his way upward. He had been at this for a while now, but thankfully could see the top fairly well.

The knight flung his pack over the top once in reach, as if to check. He knew a few that had poked their head up too soon and lost it to one of those scaly beasts he so despised. No claws, teeth, or magic- good, he proposed. Carefully, he followed the path of his backpack and drew himself up and over the side of the cliff. To his surprise, he wasn't able to see much.

((Now you could describe the landscape your character lives in after the "wind" clears XD and your characters reaction of course, onward! >w< ))

There was no dragon attacking him, but he was in for a bit of a surprise anyway when the knight did poke his head over the edge, as practically in his face was an aged yew chewing on his pack. Startled by the appearance of a human head shortly after the pack, the sheep quickly turned and scampered back into the den, the man's pack still in her mouth. Currently, the yew appeared to be the only occupant in the den.

The den itself was a rather decent ways away from human civilization, as the main inhabitant desired nothing more than to steer clear of the human race. An inhabitant who currently was not home. The dragon, who goes by the name of Amalthea, was in the form of a sleek human woman with gentle waving hair that fell down to shortly past her ribs, pulled back into a low ponytail, with eyes a deep cosmic blue. She was weaving through the trees and grasslands at the base of the mountains as she shepherded a small group of sheep into a cave at the base of the mountain. She much preferred having only to deal with one sheep, but her first pet was growing old and Amalthea couldn't bear to let go of any of her babies... So she had kept the whole lot, and they proved time and again to be quite a handful- even for a dragon.

((Sorry if that's not enough detail. >< I tried.))

The young knight mumbled something to himself and finally stepped forward. He followed after the little creature to get his pack back from it before all its contents were eaten. He raised up his helmet for a brief moment to get a good look of his surroundings. Again, he muttered something about how his sources must be crazy to say that there was a dragon living here. The area was definitely hospitable for one, but a yew wouldn't be hanging around a dragon, obviously. He laughed and sat down to take a short rest. The knight decided he would wait in a hidden place for at least a day or so to see if a dragon would come.

Well, thankfully for the knight, the yew didn't eat too much of his pack, but that was the least of his worries, as once Amalthea finished herding her sheep into their makeshift pen she latched the fence she made and changed her form, not bothering with flying to get to her den. Instead she simply climbed the- to her, rather short cliff. Since she got all of her food from digging, scaling a cliff was a simple task. (Her only diet is precious minerals, gems, and crystals. Non-living stuff.)

Needless to say, the sight of a knight in her home, near her precious pet, was not a welcome one. Letting out a protective growl she swiftly scaled the remainder of the cliff and with one paw she shoved the knight as far away from her sheep as she could without knocking him off the cliff. For her it was a short climb, for them it was probably a fatal fall and she didn't want to kill him. With the man and the sheep separated her next reaction was to plop down and curl protectively around the mildly confused yew, glaring at the knight as if to say 'Mine'. She even had the audacity to lift a paw and shoo him away!

((She's not really big because she's still 'young', but her dragon form is around maybe double a horse's height? Decent dragon mount size, I think. Of course, she's still not fully grown, nor does a dragon ever really stop growing.))

He coughed from being smacked across the ground, but stood as quickly as he had fallen. This wasn't new to him- almost falling off cliffs, broken ribs, etcetera. He pulled his sword from his belt and steadied his helm. "I'll make this quick for you, beast." The silver and black adornments to his skin shined in the light, making him seem like some holy knight. The dragonslayer carried many secrets under his armor, other than the simple blade. He seemed very seasoned and ready, however, he sweated nervously. He jumped aside and sprinted back behind the dragon's cave, where he could "hide".

"I'm not interested in playing with you." She said flatly, "Please leave my home and go bug someone else. I have done nothing to deserve an annoying human invading my home." She said, going to fetch her sheep's ball while keeping an eye on the knight, "And leave my sheep alone." She added firmly, returning to the sheep. "I don't tolerate people messing with my sheep. She's mine." She had no idea what prompted this dragonslayer person to come all the way out to her home, but she didn't like it... It meant that humans knew she was here...

"I'm not here for your sheep, I'm here for your hide!" He shouted, giving away his hidden place. He moved again, watching, waiting. He wasn't going to face a dragon head on, especially if it was larger than him and there was no way for him to block any attacks. He had to admit, the sheep were funny, sort of cute little creatures, but he shouldn't be distracting himself with them. He was here to avenge his family after all.

"I figured that." She said flatly, "It's all you humans ever seem to care about when it comes to dragons. Their hides and their treasure. Well, my only treasure is my sheep so you won't profit off of me and killing me would mean I can't tend to my pets... and that would be mean." She added, batting the ball to the yew, who- thanks to a bit of training from a good friend when they were both younger, rolled the ball back to the dragoness in a sort of game.

It was a little obvious that she wasn't too terribly afraid of the human just yet, more like generally annoyed at his mere presence... But part of why she was so relaxed probably had to do with tactical position. If he really did suddenly pose a threat and started to charge her or anything, she could easily just let out a jet of flame down the corridor... Though she would much rather the human just left.

((Gah! Finally got to reply! Life has been SOOO hectic lately that it just isn't funny. But now I think things should settle down a small bit. I went from working all day, every day to classes during the week and relaxing/homework time on the weekend. Free time yay!))

((I'm so happy it got better for you, really. I understand when things get busy, roleplaying and games and such are kind of impossible haha. I'm starting classes this week so we'll see if I get busy XD Thanks for replying, it means a lot even after so much time. Oh- Hawkeye wanted to join, they pinged me. PM them and settle details or is it a no?))

"That's all humans seem to care about, huh? Guess you've never met one like me. I don't kill dragons for the sport; if they would just cooperate and tell me what I need to know, then I wouldn't have to. But you dragons are so prideful that you won't lower yourself to speaking with a human." The knight leaped from his place on the mountainside and rolled for cover to get closer to her and the yew. He hid behind a boulder, once again, playing it safe. "I don't intend to die before I find the dragon who laid siege to the kingdom I was born- swallowed my parents."
