Okay so I fought the zone boss in the holiday zone.. and this happened:

[09:28:22 AM] You have found an item: [Tough Armor of the Warden]!
[09:28:22 AM] You have found an item: [Wheel of Spring Cheer Ticket]!
[09:29:16 AM] You have encountered an Enemy! What do you wish to do?
[09:29:18 AM] You have begun a battle!
[09:30:12 AM] Your Party was victorious! You defeated 1 Enemy!
[09:30:12 AM] You have gained 2 Advancement Points!
[09:30:22 AM] You have encountered an Enemy! What do you wish to do?
[09:30:25 AM] You have begun a battle!
[09:31:03 AM] Your Party was victorious! You defeated 1 Enemy!
[09:31:03 AM] You have gained 2 Advancement Points!
[09:31:03 AM] You have found an item: [Balanced Relic of the Myrmidon]!

The wheel ticket is clearly the fight with the boss.. the next two fights I encountered Luporas that I decided to try to catch. Only.. it says I 'defeated' them. Nothing about your trap succeeded, blah blah wild lupora is over here. Nothing about them being dead, alive, Schrodinger's Luporas, etc.

In the new system, there are two logs. One for general information and one for battle. I believe only the battle log will display trap results. Once you exit the battle, it loads the general log which just says that you defeated an enemy, received loot, etc.

Ah, alright. I didn't remember seeing anything at all regarding if my trap failed or not on either of these, but I suppose maybe I just missed it.
