I'm not sure I'm the only one experiencing this, but I thought I'd post it in here as a suggestion for the future.

Let's say that User A clicks on the "Add to Friends" button on User B's profile. To User A, it looks like nothing's happened because there's no indication (confirmation prompt or button change) that a friends request has just been sent or is currently pending.

Then, when User B accepts a friend request, they show up in User A's contacts but won't have User A added to their own contacts. To fix this, they would also have to request User A as a friend.

That said, I suggest some kind of indication that a friend request has been sent or is currently pending. Maybe a prompt comes up that says the request has been sent, or the "Add to Friends" profile button is greyed out or otherwise depressed so that a user can't click on it anymore.

I also suggest that when User B accepts a friend request, not only are they counted as User A's friend but also have User A added to their own friends/contacts as well, which will save User B from performing the additional step of having to add User A to their friends themselves.
