This has happened a few times, and each time it does it starts to bug me just a liiiiiittle bit more than the last. Finally, it's occurred enough times for me to think "hmm... maybe I should report this."

On the new pet search (that I absolutely love! *hails to the admin*) there are two options that have a tendency to get 'stuck.'

For Sale: any/yes and For Breeding: any/yes

I use the search feature a lot, (like a lot-lot ._.) and at random if I switch between the "Any" and "Yes" options, it'll end up staying on "Yes." It lets me select the "Any" of course, but the moment I hit "Search" that mischievous little "Yes" option automatically re-selects itself and interferes with the search. I can keep trying to switch it back to "Any" as many times as I care to try, but it always just goes straight back to the "Yes" the moment that "Search" button is pushed.

I can even refresh the page, or hit the nice shiny red "Reset" button, and STILL it changes to "Yes" again when I hit "Search."

It seems the only way to get around this little bug is to completely get out of the search by redirecting to a new page, and then start over from whatever I was searching. It isn't too big an annoyance, but it happens the most after I've filled in all of the needed search parameters for tracking down my six-traits. (So that means retyping my userID, reselecting the species, resetting the traits to 'either' or 'visible,' and resetting the "Order By" option. Time consuming when you have to do that about 5-20 times while trying to sort through about 70-200 of the same type of pet. *cough*ryorihoarder*cough*)

Also, though I'm not sure if this is relevant or not, it hasn't gotten stuck on the "Any" option for me yet. Just the "Yes."

Kind of makes me wish there was a "No!" option, just to get back at that evil little "Yes" for interrupting my searches. XD

Hm. Well, it obviously isn't supposed to do that. I tested it a little and couldn't reproduce it.

Are you able to take the same steps to produce the error each time? If so, what steps?

Or, does it just happen randomly?

Which browser are you using? Do you have any addon that could be tampering with the form?

So far it's just been completely random to my awareness, but I haven't kept extensive track of how it happens. I'm sure it'll happen again soon enough, though, so when ti does I'll be sure to let you know if I catch onto anything trendy.

As for add-ons I don't use any because they have that tendency to interfere with things, and I use Google Chrome for the web browser. I have Internet Explorer and Firefox as well, but I usually don't use those. I could try those as well and see if it eventually bugs out on me there too. :)

Edit: didn't mean to ping. .__. It's kind of a habit I've obtained from forum sales.

Lol it's np.

I use Chrome as well, so it's not the browser.

Hm. I'm not too sure. If you can, maybe try to figure out a pattern and see what triggers it. I can pretty much guarantee that it's not "random" lol. After over a year of debugging things, I don't think anything has ever been random even after banging my head against an issue for hours - eventually, I find the culprit. Unfortunately, I can't do that if I can't produce the error myself. =S

I just wanted to point out that i noticed this happening as well when you set the "order by" to breeding or sale price. It automatically bounces to yes for whichever one you are searching.

Thank you Lost. Taking a look, I can verify that is indeed how it's coded and thus working as intended.

So Xavion, if you want to search without a for sale or breeding only clause, just be sure to change the order by.

*facepalms* I probably never would have realized that.

Thanks Krin and Lost! <3
