I was thinking of potions similar to those enhancements hatchlings can take. The difference is these potions arn't as great and prob bc of this can be bought for cheap. They increase a certain stat, say intelligence, and that stat stays increased for so many turns, say 100. More special stat increase pots can even go for 10,000 turns but of course are more expensive in some way. These pots can be used during and after battle, but only are effected by turns in battle.

This is something that will be a big part of the crafting system. You may also see some additions when the scale shop is rebuilt.
