Hello everyone!

I started playing the game yesterday and have been having a look through the guides in the guides section theres still loads for me to figure out, but Im really enjoying the game so far!

Firstly, Im trying to put together a good team for combat and missions which, from what Ive read, is quite important. I found some pets I quite liked that were quite cheap and had very good stats, although I still like my starting pet At some point along the way, do you swap pets for ones with better stats? Can pets that initially have low stats make it to the end of the game without any problems? Id prefer to have easy battles, as I can still have lovely pets in my stables anyway.

Ive also spotted a pet for sale that I absolutely love the design of and which has perfect stats, but it costs 250,000 coins for someone whos just starting out, how long would it take me to save up that amount, and what would be my best option? As Im just starting out, Ive only found that doing one-hour quests earns me 800 coins an hour

Id also love to change my avatars outfit do players sell clothes to other players? I havent found that option!

Welcome!

When it comes to stats, you'll be fine with basically any pets doing stuff up to level 60 if your team and gear is set up well (if you're reading guides you should be fine). And I think any pet will be fine doing missions if it has decent levels and relevant proficiency points invested. A lot of my retired party members are now dedicated mission pets.
Past level 60 there's the Lost Grove, which is a huge and challenging piece of content where I'd recommend getting a full team of max stats, or eventually possibly 'super' stats who go above the old cap. Don't worry about rushing that though, getting through the grove is a long process no matter what.

250,000 gold is a decent chunk of gold to save up, but a fairly normal price for a max stat pet. I really can't say how long it would take to get there as a new player. Mission rewards will be comfortably in the thousands eventually, so it's great long term.
If you want to make some gold quickly then I think the Fall Festival is a great opportunity. Any extra festival items you don't plan on using you can sell on the broker. That's done from the inventory with the 'broker item' button. If you go to the broker itself (trade menu -> trade broker), that's where you can find a bunch of avatar items other people are selling.

If you have any other questions feel free to ask!

@Wavypavy

Thanks! Thats been really helpful. However, when I click on the festival item icon in my inventory, the broker item button is greyed out and wont work do you know why that might be?

Hey, Welcome to Sylestia!
Allow me to extend a rexceptionally warm welcome! :P

WavyPavy is right in that the Fall Festival is the perfect time for leveling your party pets and digging up some goodies! As well as just interacting with the community, since there's a boom in activity during events so there's loads of people to talk to and get advice from.
My biggest suggestion for starting out, as a relatively new player myself, is to spam missions! I made 250k by probably the end of my first day playing just by grinding out levels on the world map and maxing out my mission slots. So while it is wallet-hitter, its definitely a do-able amount even for a new player!

As for the party itself, I still play with my starter and run with the water element as my tank(heavy hitter, so high strength points and health to absorb damage) with light (healing) and fire (multi enemy stacks) as my support! Although, some people prefer the earth element as their tank for certain named's ("bosses"). This thread here should be a big help in figuring out what you'd like to do, but party pets are interchangeable so don't feel like you're stuck with whatever you pick now!

If there's an item in your inventory which when you click on it the "broker item" button is greyed out, that probably means the item is considered "non-tradeable" so its account bound! You can check this by hovering your cursor over the item and reading its description.

For changing up your avatar, hover your mouse over the "account" button in the hotbar at the top of your screen, and read down to where it says "wardrobe". To get new avatar items, you can earn them by defeating the named bosses in the festival zone, getting retired festival items by completing items on the task log, or by purchasing them from other players in the trade broker.

Once you've gotten a feel for what you're interested in 'round here, let me know what kind of sylesti's you're interested in and I'd be happy to help you get started on building up your mission task force and maybe get some brews going for the fest :P

Like Rexistentialcrisis said, there are some items that are untradeable, so that's most likely. Item descriptions include if they can be traded if you want to double check.

Also, to give someone a notification when you reply, either hit the '@' button on their message or put their username in the 'ping users' box (just above the formatting options) when you're writing out your message
