The. Time. Has. Finally. Come.
My goodness, did it take awhile to get here! But we finally made it. Tomorrow, in approximately 24 hours, Sylestia will be going offline for a MAJOR UPDATE! Not only will we be switching over the foundation of the site to a brand new, modern site layout, but we will also be releasing the brand new, massive Breeding Grounds update! This will be the culmination of about 18 months of ongoing work. The estimated downtime is 2-6 hours.
Major Highlights
- Brand new Site Layout built entirely from scratch. New look, modern features, more quality of life, better performance. An important note, due to how the site is coded, I cannot update the entire site all at once. With this initial release, only a handful of pages will be getting the new look. We will then be updating pages, one at a time, to the new layout over the course of the next 3-6 months until the entire site is fully overhauled. Every single page has to be manually rebuilt from scratch for the new site layout.
- Brand new back-end code completely rebuilt from scratch. Exceptionally faster than the current site's back-end code. Way more quality of life and customization options including: site color theme with night-mode friendly options, customizable font, hand-crafted page zoom, higher fidelity pet and avatar artwork, and much more.
- Brand new account system for player accounts. Includes creating a new account, login system, email system, managing your account, support for linking your Sylestia account to a Google or Apple account, support for Two-Factor Authentication via a third party application (such as Google Authenticator), and much more.
- Brand new Player Support Ticketing system. Players can now fill out tickets that get sent directly into our brand new ticket system rather than having to handwrite emails to our support email. This will improve response speeds, make it easier to keep track of specific issues, make it easier for players to figure out how to get assistance, etc.
- Absolutely massive Breeding Grounds update that completely overhauls the entire pet breeding system for Sylestia. Tons of new tools, tons of new quality of life, massive interface upgrade, way better search system, and much more.
New Site Layout
As advertised, we have built an entirely brand new site layout for the following major pages/features:
Home page, Create Account page, Login page, Account Management page, Contact Us page, Legal pages, Credits page, and the Breeding Grounds page.

Eventually, this layout will be brought to every single page across all of Sylestia, finally bringing the entire site into unison - one single layout to rule them all! I estimate that we will be updating 1 or 2 pages per week until everything is done, taking about 3-6 months in total.
New Global Site Settings will allow Players to customize their experience while playing Sylestia. These settings allow the control of a site theme, night mode, different font families, font size adjustments, performance tweaks, and more.
While the new site layout will not be launching with a mobile specific version, it should offer an enhanced mobile device experience with better controls, better sizing, etc. A fully supported mobile version of Sylestia is planned for late 2027 or early 2028.
We have completely rebuilt our Player Account systems from the ground up. New Players can now create an account using their existing Google or Apple account. Existing Players can link their Google or Apple account to their Sylestia account to login via that method instead. We have also added support for the use of third party Authenticators, such as Google Authenticator or Authy.
New Player Support Ticket System
We have built an entirely brand new Player Support Ticket system. Whenever a new or existing Player has an issue, the will be able to visit this page and create a ticket. Our back-end system will then automatically pick it up, file the ticket, and quickly let Staff know of an issue. Players will no longer have to manually write emails to our support email and Staff will no longer have to manually write emails back through our server's email provider.
This should be a massive improvement for both Players and Staff. Players should find it much easier to report issues and Staff will find it much easier to assist and respond to the issues.
Breeding Grounds Overhaul
As teased now for well over a year, we are finally releasing our massive Breeding Grounds overhaul! This should be an immensely significant improvement for all existing Player Breeders out there and, hopefully, a much more appealing feature for potential new Player Breeders!
With the release of the new Breeding Grounds, all breeding sessions will now have an innate chance of producing Twins and Triplets! You do not have to pay an extra fee if you receive Twins or Triplets, however, you will have to use additional Philters on the additional Offspring if you wish to do so (there is a settings toggle to control this on the Select Philters window).
Easily navigate your own Stables to find Pets to breed with. You can narrow the search based on Gender, Species, and Stable. You can then browse all relevant information about each Pet, such as its Statistics, Traits, Colors, and more.
If you want a more in-depth search of your own Pets, you can browse the Listings window and simply set it to only include your own Pets, which will include all of your Pets whether they have Listings or not.
Once you have selected a Male and Female Pet of the same Species, you can then opt to Test Breed an Offspring, breed them to produce an Offspring, or save them as a Saved Pair for quickly re-breeding them again in the future.
Fully Test Breed any valid parents to see all possible Offspring, including Traits with percent odds, Statistical ranges, and example Colors. You can even lock the Test Breed results to be set to a specific Gender or specific Traits.
When finally settling on two Pets to breed together, you will have the option of applying various Philters to enhance them. For example, you can use a [Philter of Enhanced Fertility] to guarantee that the breeding will produce Twins, an [Exceptional Infertility Kit] to automatically make the Offspring Infertile at birth, or a [Prismatic Philter] to enhance the Base Stats of the Offspring without having to remember to apply one when Hatching the Offspring.
Once you are satisfied with the Male and Female Pets that you are breeding with and the Philters to use on them, you can see all relevant information about the breeding before fully committing. A Breeding Fee will be collected upon each breeding, which is calculated based on many factors of the pets, such as whether it's Themed, how many Traits it has, what its Base and Wild Stats are, etc. If the parents are more complex and advanced, more care and attention is required to nurture and raise the Eggling to Adolescence. The Breeding Fee covers this expense and is paid up front. If you are breeding with other Player's Listed Pets, you will also be responsible for their own Listing Fees, if applicable.
If you are planning on breeding the same Male and Female Pets together more than once, you can utilize the Save Pair feature. This allows you to save individual pairs, organized by Projects of your choosing, to then quickly re-breed them at a later time. The Philters that you last used for the Saved Pair will be automatically re-applied. However, you can freely update the Philters used or utilize an "override" to apply a different set of Philters to an entire batch of Quick Breeds.
Tired of trying to navigate the Advanced Search to find Pets to breed with? Worry no further! The new Breeding Grounds comes with an entire broker system built in where Players can both list their own Pets up for Public or Private Breeding or browse other Players' Listings to find new Pets to breed with!
Each Pet can have both a Public and Private Listing. Private Listings can be set up to 10 individual Players at a time. Players can control all aspects of the Listing. Change, remove, or re-list it at any time. Once a Listing expires, Players can re-list it with two clicks of a button via the interface and it will be re-listed using all of the same parameters it was previously set to.
Players can use various searching parameters to find the perfect Pets to breed with. You can browse by Themed Pets, specific Traits, Stat Ranges, and more! You can also sort the results based on whatever you want, such as by Listing Fee, highest Stat, etc!
Since this is an entirely new system and completely separate from the old system, all Pets will have to be re-listed under this new system.
In Summary
This is a gigantic update for Sylestia and our first major step into the future. Months ago, I had said that Sylestia is nearing a point of accelerated growth. While I hoped that we could have started a month or two ago, we are now finally starting this exciting process. I will be striving to update an existing Sylestia feature literally every single week until the entire site is overhauled. As each feature is updated, you can expect the same level of quality and care that the Breeding Grounds has received here - new features, new quality of life, re-balanced mechanics, etc.
