I am a teensy bit inspired so I ask (and I am curious.) Does anyone have a naming system with their pets? Specific cultures, words, the like? I'll go first!
Most of my ryori are named after different korean, japanese, thai, or chinese words and mythos
(LEFT TO RIGHT:)
Pale Fright Ryori Dokkaebi (pixie, sprite, goblin)
Day of the Dead Ryori, Yojeong (fairy, pixie)
Royal Effigy Ryori Kagutsuchi (blacksmithing, fire; 'incarnation of fire')
Sweet Sugar Ryori Seoltangbaekjo (lit. Sugar Swan)
Blazing Fireworks Ryori Kuman Thong (lit. 'golden young/baby boy', common in southern thailand)
Festive Ryori Xia Dashen (From the Pat Ka Chiong; Southern Han beliefs. This one is the Great Summer god.)
And some non-ryori....
Honey Flower Vulnyx Hunang (icelandic word for Honey)
Tree Dryad Lunemara Aker (egyptian deity; (the) bender/(the one who) bends)
Moonfall Aeridini Usiku (swahili word for 'night')
Snowy Night Faelora Hanara (rough japanese word for 'flowers'/blossoms)
I'm interested to see if anyone else does this!!
